Need advice about real estate MLS and SEO

Hello,

We're looking to have an MLS system implemented onto a website we are building for a real estate client.

We have been weighing our options and have narrowed the choices between an IDX broker and a RETS system. We're not thrilled about the IDX setup, because we would, to our knowledge, only get a subdomain on their website and not our client's. Anyone have any knowledge/insight to share regarding these choices?

Regarding the optimization of MLS pages, we're seeing that Trulio ranks very well with their listings. I am noticing that their listings have unique HTML titles, meta descriptions and image alt tags for each listing. We're intending to do the same and possibly add in a unique, relevant h1 header on each listing as well.

Does anyone have some tips/suggestions to add to that?

Thanks!

This is a specialty area for me for the past 4 years. I've reviewed a bunch of options for consideration and currently work in this field. Visit [ no fluff reviews dot com] or google "idx system reviews" to get to one of my sites.

You might want to check out a company with a high reputation among realtors in this arena, Market Leader, for ideas here.

Here's one of their test / sample sites, for cyber-tire kicking:

Washington DC Homes and Real Estate - East Lake Real Estate Company (no affil).

...you can contact a sales rep to get admin access for testing. Also, they have free webinars and other educational training resources that you can tap into, as I understand (haven't tried this yet but it's on my To Do list):

    Their link:
Jumpstart your product education, training, coaching | Market Leader (no affil).

Here's a nice rep I've been working with, if you want to ask her questions:

Diana Ladiser l Business Development Advisor dianal@marketleader.com
888-239-2199 (no affil). Note: she's not a tech, to my knowledge, but may be able to hook you up with the right people for that. Then just ask them about SEO, rank, etc. They may offer info that helps you with your own project.
