try building some web 2.0 links. write articles and post them to web 2.0 sites with your backlinks in.

web 2.0 sites are sites like wordpress.com, tumblr.com and other sites where you sign up and get a like blog account.

point other backlinks to those web 2.0 sites to give them more authority which in turn will build more authority on your website thus increasing and/or maintaing your position in the search engines.

you are right getting number one postion is not also depand upon backlinks , it's depand quality of your site content ,onpage optimizaition, bounce rate, page loding time, too many factors..
