Page not showing up on Google

So one of my websites (the domain is made up of keywords targeted by Google) isn't showing up on the search results anymore.

Yesterday it was the 3rd search result when i type in the keywords on Google. Today someone requested to have their website redirected from mine. Since it does well on the search results.

However, it is not longer showing up as the 3rd search result! Is it because it forwards to another page? Did i redirect it wrong or what?
How can i redirect to another page while still keeping the position on Google?

thanks everyone for the help!

By "redirect." do you mean something like a backlink, trackback or link exchange? Also, until your site has some traction in the search engines, your pages might bounce around until Google decides where it wants you to be. It's called the "Google dance."

I mean that when someone clicks on my website's link on Google, they are forwarded to my client's site instead of opening mine. Not sure if that falls under backlink, trackback or link exchange.
But that makes sense. Is there any way google can just leave the page on the result it is now? My client already paid and is considering a refund now that it doesn't show up on the first page.

I don't mean to be rude, but answers like that really don't help.

Would it be easier to just sell the domain to my client instead of forwarding to his site? I want to still maintain the number 3 position though
