Adsense Blogging - Articles

I'm pretty new to the whole Adsense Blogging scene, so leading up to purchasing a service that makes the blogs for me, I have a question. What is the difference between 2 articles, 5 articles, and 10 articles on a blog? Does it help on the SERPs? The more content the better rankings? It may sound stupid, but I'm really curious to know if I should pay for more articles later on for a blog if I only purchase 2.

    The information below is pretty general as details depend on the niche, keywords, traffic strategy,etc.

    For AdSense sites you are usually targeting a specific niche or building out an authority site.

    For niche sites you will be targeting one main keyword with a few secondary keywords. With the new Google Panda and Penguin updates people are recommending building niche sites out a bit more.

    A site with 2 articles is usually a starter site and you would be expected to add your own content.

    5 or 10 articles is about the minimum for a niche site. You can start with five and then drip feed 5 more over time to feed Google. You can also use them as a base to start an authority site.

    For a niche site you want to focus SEO on your main keyword until it ranks, then start looking to rank for secondary keywords.

    For an authority site, you don't go hard core SEO right away, rather you publish a lot of content and grab rankings for many keywords. Then use traffic analysis to see what keywords are bringing traffic and add SEO for those terms.

    The decision to start with 2, 5 or 10 pages is usually a financial one because 10 pages is almost the minimum you would want even on a niche site.
