Backlinks and my redirect, am I making a mistake?

Hello, sorry if this has been answered somewhere. I did try to find it.

I have my own domain name that points to my eBay store page which has it's own url. I build backlinks for my eBay store with my domain name as the url. However in checking my backlinks and PR, it seems it doesn't catch it and instead catches eBay in general...............if that makes any sense.

So, does it do any good to use my domain url rather than the actual url even though I point to it?

Thank you

I couldn't the question completely, however, I would say that in link building no redirect techniques work instead it would be harmful to your targeted website, you should build links to your site manually which is your main website.

Building links for a redirecting URL is not advisable. Most of the bookmarking sites and directories do not allow to submit redirecting URL. If the redirect is 302 then you will not get any link value for your store page.

Its simple google algoritham works like this.
The first page which reach google bot will be primary and the remaining pages(duplicated) is secondary. But there are few sites like amazon,e-bay etc(Top most sites) are given priority due to the age of the domain and reputation.
So when ever you create backlink don't expect that you will get backlink from major sites(mostly). If you want to try this than first ping your original source to google(eg:pingler) wait for some time to get indexed and than try e-bay or other sites.
      Hope it helps.

Thank you for responding...............I think I understand ? I will clarify to make sure. (I can't add links yet to posts to pardon the way I'm laying them out)

eBay gives your store it's own url and looks like this. Say my store is ABCco. Ebay url is storesdotebaydotcom/ABCco.

I have a url that is dubdubdubdotABCcodotcom that points to the above eBay url.

I've been building backlinks using dubdubdubdotABCcodotcom but when I check my backlinks status, it shows the status for stores.ebay.com and ends there.

So..................have I been wasting my time and should I use the eBay url they give me?

I'm about to outsource a lot of Angela's Backlinks and want to make sure to do it right.

        thanks you

PS It did seem to push my PR up the page. I showed up on page 1 so confusing..........

My low count on posts made it hard to post productively , sorry about that.

However I found my answer that when backlinking, do not use a redirect url, use the actual url it is being directed to.

That was my question............and appears I've wasted a lot of time doing it wrong. Oh well, now I know.
