Method 28, Web2.0
Web 2.0 is very powerful. in terms of the traffic you get and to place your links in the sites. I will give you 1 very powerful strategy i am using,

Ok i have a lot of success posting articles on web 2.0 sites eg content sharing sites
  1. Gather
  2. flixya
  3. cafepress
  4. freewebs
  5. wetpaint
  6. Hupages
  7. Squidoo
Now heres the trick, all the above sites, google loves but what we wont to do is find new content sharing sites that google loves. What we do is
go to alexa,
go to the movers and shackers section.
look a sites you dont know of that are climbing the search engines(these are usually the sites that are the next big thing, eg squidoo hubpages)
Because there climbing so quickly, google loves them because they are providing something with quality that people love.
So we go to these sites and basically insert, ,articles videos, comments all with our links.
We basically get to put our links on the best sites on the internet at any time, getting really good traffic and PR juice.

I found hubpages before anyone was using it to make money and get traffic and made a small fortune through it.


All these methods work, but its very very important you have a strategy to implement them that is key, believe me!

  • Dean, thanks for the list. By chance, do you have a list of directories that accept internal links that you could share? I have seen one list, but just about every directory on that list will only accept top level url's. Thanks.

      I used genlinks to promote my site and it doesn't only look for top level url's but mostly url's that have activity and are showing signs of deep linking to increase their rating. Google Genlinks and it should be the second site that pops up.

    Directory critic has a long list of directories allowing deep links. Just google directory critic deep link.

    • Yes thats right. Check out metafilter.com instead. its high PR and uses follow links. Requires a small sign up fee but is well worth it .

  • excellent and to the point talk.. i've been following this religiously for quite some time now and i've seen success in short time and it has been continously working that way. although there were few sites which i havent checked and looks like its time to move on with new stuff

  • Very useful information . The hardest part of all this is the time it takes to do it . Outsourcing is indeed the way to go if you can afford it .
    I do have one question though , what is #8 , article underground ? Never heard that expression before .

    • google it, its really handy for picking up plr articles, get them re-written then post it on there many sites pointing back to yours, a lot of the sites have fairly good PR.

  • ok so, my brother recently got laid off his job in ireland (recession) so he wants to build a website and make a few pound. i told him id give him all the help he'd need. he just got the website uploaded last night, keep in mind hes a complete beginner, it will be a while before we start seo it but have a look in the meantime (i removed url as my friend advised me to as the site isnt established and if competitors see it they will spam it and get in de-indexed.)

      get your site de-indexed by others? I don't think so. and you say you know what you're talking about? Sheesh, if you're buying that crappy stompernet stuff, then you dont' know what you're talking about. sure, there's some stuff in there that works, but i've found at least 4 things in it that are not even true and been myth busted over a year ago.

    • Good list that you have shared there. The challenge is to put it all into a workable plan.
      I think that you're on the right track by trying to do lots of different off-page methods, not just focusing on article marketing or blog commenting etc.

      Once you have a plan or 'system' you can then replicate it across all of the different websites that you're promoting.

    • the same way you do it for your own site, instead, you're just submitting someone elses site that has your link on it, u direct it to the page your link is on.

      why? it creates a semantically related referance that boosts your ranking score

    • Good information although too general. Seo is time consuming therefore it would help if you at least mention how many times you do each of the things you mentioned. Don't get me wrong its a good informative post.
      I would also add getting EDU & GOV links, they are highly regarded by google. You can either buy them or you can seach for Do Follow University (EDU) forums

      Im currently putting together a little wordpress site where i am revealing absolutely everything i know on making money online.

      This wont be your average blog as each post will be more of a blueprint rather than an article. Step by step instructions so people can put in use.

      The only problem im having is getting time to get the blueprints written up and the site as its just a project on the side.

  • personaly i think you should pick 5 methods and stick with them for a while, test the results your getting and maybe if there not good pick another 5, if you try all methods at once you will never really get good at any.

  • Yeah, this is a good post. Guest blogging and content distribution is really powerful, especially because of the relationships you develop.

    I"m still wrapping my head around Twitter, but creating a really cool widget and reaching out to bloggers in your niche is pretty good too.

    Work on building relationships and links will come pretty easily.

  • Unless I missed it, you left out one of the most important type of backlinks out there - high-PR forum profile links. I only do that and article marketing for all my sites and I achieve page 1 rankings easily and quickly. Honestly you don't need all the other stuff like directory submission and rss submission and social bookmarking and whatnot...
