Domain Name: Extra word in middle of Keywords?

The exact domain I wanted is taken (of course).
I was planning to put an extra word in the middle, would that work?

For example:

cattoys.com was taken
cattoysonline.com was taken
catonlinetoys.com was not, so I plan to use that name.

I see that most people put a word on at the end, does it matter where you put the extra word? I most care about SEO and how having an extra word in the middle could affect my ranking.

    If you put it in the middle if wont be an EMD for your keyword as your keyword will be split by a seperating word, place it at the end

      EMD= exact matching domain

      I wouldn't recommend placing an extra word in the middle.
      Try to come up with a good sounding prefix or suffix instead, since it will help you further down the line.

    So, it can be a EMD if there is a prefix or a suffix, but not a word in the middle?

    For as important as we believe the exact matching domain to be it's content, inbound links from relative ranking sites and search clickthroughs that matter more. Name it whatever you want and put the extra word wherever you want. Back it up with relevant content which is interesting and valuable to your real visitors.

    Did you try something like a dash?

    a better choice would be cattoyshq.com
    cattoysworld.com

    Something brandable works better than random words in the middle

    You can put anything you want in the middle. The only time it matters is if your content is sub-par or if you are telling people the name of your domain vocally. Why would a dash be better than 123? The data says it doesn't matter so long as you provide valuable content. If you don't intend on providing valuable content and the domain name is the most important aspect of your site then you should worry about it.
