Blog Commenting

I strongly believe that one need to comment on the blogs related to its niche to create quality backlinks. However, most of the high profile blogs today don't allow you to comment directly on their comment section. In fact, you are forced to create a new profile. You can specify name of your bog in your profile only. When another user hover mouse on the name, it shows the link towards the profile.

Apart from that, you can comment via using your facebook or twitter account which again point towards your facebook profile.

Few of the blogs who simply allow users to post comments, have implemented "nofollow" policy which obviously won't give SEO benefit in Google. So, at the end there are very very few blogs who are in top rank and have "dofollow" policy implemented.

So, the question is how can I create backlinks from high PR blogs or websites and how can I find them.

  • blogs are in the directories but i think if you comment post and add your site, administrator don't allow your comment and it will published.

    • Most high pr blogs protect their PR by having all links as 'nofollow'. If you search in google, there are lists of 'dofollow' blogs, but most of them are out of date or have low PR

  • Blog comment on the related niche is good way to get backlinks, however, the number on the same domain should be controlled so as to avoid being considered as spammer.

  • It is difficult; you can hardly blame the popular blogs for changing their system. My websites get a constant flow of spam comments - up to 10x more comments per day than actual visitors, LOL.

If you have a program like Scrapebox then you can do your own searches for high PR, do follow blogs in your niche. You can also buy lists from other people. Leaving a manual, meaningful comment is the best method for the comment to be approved and to stick.
  • Also, it is difficult because most backlinks from blogs are no-follow, which doesn't pass any link juice to your website and contribute to its PR (pagerank). However, you need a variety of backlinks from numerous sources, so that doesn't mean blog commenting is useless.
  • There are PLENTY of blogs that don't require you to register. I wouldn't stress over the other ones. Just move on and find a different blog.

If you want to find these types of blogs in large quantities you should consider Scrapebox, which is what I use to help find and organize the packs I create.
  • Blog commenting is not the only way to build back links, besides there are millions of blog, if you take the time to refine them you will find a few high PR blogs to comment on and also use your link successfully.

If you have Scrapebox tool you can start researching for blogs open for comment, check there PR and many other things.
  • Using scrapebox to find high PR sites is one option and another option is dropmylink.com. This site is a free blog finding site. You will just enter your keyword and it will find all the blogs related to your blog through google search.
  • What I face is most of the times with high PR or traffic websites: you need to register, livefyre, disqus, facebook comments, Akismet bin, openid, wordpress.com login, no href allowed or no website link space.
  • Indeed blog commenting is a good strategy but you need to do it accordingly to avoid spam. Aside from they don't allow comments most of the blogs of today are no follow. But just be patient on doing this.
  • Comments are great if you are targeting quality over quantity.

    • I agree with you but if this is all?
    • Agreed.

Spend 20 minutes leaving 10 quality comments on PR1+ posts and getting 4-5 approved (4-5 PR1+ backlinks), or spend 10 minutes spamming junk blogs and getting a few thousand PR N/A links? (That are most likely on spammed-to-death sites, making them both dangerous and useless.)

    • Agreed. Quality and Relevancy.
  • +1 for using scrapebox. Though I haven't used it personally, I have seen many tutorials in youtube and the software seems very helpful in finding niche related blogs. But be sure to comment manually.
  • Don't discount nofollow links. A link is a link and getting nofollow links helps naturalize your backlink profile. If your profile is 90%+ dofollow, it creates a pretty obvious SEO footprint.
  • Go for Advanced Link building with different operators like:

    1. intext:
    2. inanchor:
    3. inurl:
    4. intitle:
    5. site:
    6. allinanchor:
    7. allintext:
    8. allintitle:
    9. allinurl:
    10. author:
    11. cache:
    12. define:
    13. ext:
    14. filetype:
    15. id:
    16. info:
    17. insubject
    18. link:
Also, add "dofollow blogs" to get the dofollow blog list. I have seen despite of writing "dofollow", you get nofollow sites too but these operators would help you a lot.

  • Blog commenting is still an effective source of traffic if it is implemented in the right way. Start posting meaningful and relevant comments in different blogs of the same niche. You can see the difference once you do it on a continous basis.

  • Blog commenting is a relatively fast way to add decent links and IP diversity. It can't be the only thing you do, but it helps boost the number of references your domain has online.
  • I haven't worried that much about 'nofollow' or not when commenting. I know the link won't pass any PR but it still counts as an remote domain IP for link diversity.
  • Blog commenting can work but make sure the blog has some type of PR on it. The thing is though when other marketers find out that you can comment on a blog that gets auto approved...then it gets hammered and pretty much just becomes everyones link party..lol

    • I agree with you, a lot of people try and comment on 0 PR blogs and it never works out the way they think it will. Eventually all of the comments are spam.

  • Blog commenting creats you quality backlinks ,very good method
  • I've had a few experiences with backlinking. Basically, you have to have the right keywords so you can google them and then arrive on a site that's relevant for your backlinks. To avoid being banned or being labeled as a spammer, your posts need to be as natural as possible and not really sound too copy-paste-y. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I generally know about backlinking.

It is not so, most popular blogs allow commenting as they also want fresh content...
  • Blog commenting is the best way to show search engine that your link building is natural. I would suggest to find relative blogs in your niche and post highly valuable comments on them. I am sure most of admin of those blogs will allow your comments and also respond them. In this way you will get high quality backlink no matter if it is no follow as now no follow links are the main part of natural link building strategy. Just rephrase your strategy, make a plan and do it.
  • Relevant blog commenting is what you need
  • there are tons of high quality pr blogs that you can comment on and get links from...you just have to search for them. They are out there. It appears to me that you maybe searched a little...got discouraged...and then went on the forum to complain about your results.

  • Comments on almost each popular blog are published after approval by its administrator or a moderator. Some of them provide a field to submit your website URL while commenting. In such blogs, your URL will be added with your name. The administrator may also look over your comment that either your aim is only to get a backlink or you are interested in helping others or getting help. So always remember not to spam other websites. The best way to get backlinks is to join forums and set your Blog/Website URL as your signature.

    • Blog commenting is a popular online marketing strategy. By leaving thoughtful comments on a blog post, an individual or a business is able to gain exposure among that blog's audience. Blog comments can establish an individual or a business as a thought leader in a particular industry which may lead to new business opportunities. Blog commenting is also a link building tactic, since the comment links back to the page that was submitted in the "Website" field. Blog commenting should not be done only for link building, but it is an added benefit. To get the most out of blog commenting, it's important to spend time researching high quality blogs in your niche and visit them on a regular basis.

When I'm commenting on niche-related blogs I make sure that I'm doing so on recent posts in an effort to drive traffic. Non-niche related I focus more on PR1+ posts with a low # of other comments.
