Warriors,

I've always wondered why so little Adwords talk in this forum?

Adwords will always be my first love and last love. It still makes up the majority of my income.

But it seems like a lot of people have moved on. I know the bans are harsh, but its still a great PPC source.

One of the reasons I seeked out paid forums. There some out there that have some good info and lot's of people talking/sharing specifically on adwords or any other paid traffic source

I'm pleased with AdWords - it allowed me to fill up my empty membership site in record time. I'm sure that if you have a good product, then you could make $$$$ from AdWords instead of $ from article marketing.

On the downside, for all those PhD's they have, their demographic profiling of visitors sucks. And incredibly, I couldn't find a way of advertising in 100 countries without laboriously adding each one individually.

      Hi Cyborgaus,

I see your opinion as backwards. With PPC you get actionable data very fast, and SEO data by comparison is extremely slow. Your PPC campaigns inform your SEO campaigns, therefore, it is far more practical to start with PPC and use the quickly garnered data to inform your SEO campaigns. You will leap far ahead of your competition that uses the backwards method you suggested.

      Hi Matthew,

I disagree with your opinion, they are not biased at all. It is only the lack of transparency and deceptive practices that are so commonplace in the affiliate marketing world that make it seem like there is a bias.

The bottom line is that, with AdWords, the exact same policies apply to every marketer regardless of whether they are an affiliate marketer, or not.

Hmmmm...starting an adwords thread wouldn't have anything to do
with having PPC site in your sig, would it? Nah...

Check that. You have a PPV site in your sig. Completely different
    animal. Adwords is not PPV.

the reason why i don`t bother with adwords any more is because there are too many hoops
that you have to jump through and also there customer service sucks

you can be waiting for days for your ad to get approved only to find that it`s been rejected

    also google hates landing/squeeze pages

in that 3 days i could of bought 5 solo ads and built an extra 500 - 1000 new subscribers into my list

or i could use a different ppc platform that don`t mind landing pages

if anyone still likes using adwords then that`s cool but for me i don`t want to waste my time with them

for some reason affiliates hate adwords. the goal to making it with adwords is to appear legitimate.

the more you look like an affiliate the more they will be on your case...dont "look" an affiliate and you will be good.

If you have a profitable campaign, it is also probable that you have invested a large amount of time and money into it, it would make no sense to sit here and hand that information out.

Most of the basic set up and running of a campaign is covered well in the adwords guide on the site, for those that want more they can take the exams and become a certified member, again all information is on the site.

Whats really left is some general questions which is fine.

Why no Adwords talk? Why Adsense (the other side of the Adwords coin) is more popular?

Because as someone pointed out, most here are affiliates. This means most promote someone else's product and trying to make a few bucks that way and from placing advertising on their site. Adsense is a quick and easy way to do this.

Most affiliates I know don't want to spend money. That's why most here believe in SEO, because of its illusion of being free. Actually, as far as Adwords is concerned, it is too expensive for most of them so I don't blame them. It's also simple math. The guy who sells his own product is ahead. He can sell a $50 item, advertise it and all the profits come back to him. An affiliate only gets a certain percentage of that same sale so it's much tougher to turn a profit. That's why they avoid PPC, with good reason. Not because Adwords doesn't like affiliates, which isn't true. Most also don't want or take time to comply with their rules.

How about waiting until your site is approved before you add any affiliate links to it?
