Another quick tweak at Google? What gives? Whatever it is, let's hope it keeps improving.

Yes, I did. I came to search this forum just now thinking that it can't be just me, and sure enough someone else is experiencing the same thing.

I presume, and I can be wrong, that another Penguin update is on the way, and this traffic surge could be exactly what happened last time immediately before the update on April 24.

Anyone else noticed this traffic surge?

    Any ideas?

Apparently the anchor switch blasting technique might be working. Let's hope this is not a glitch. If the trend continues for another two weeks, then I'll be convinced. For now, I am hopeful (and happy for the surge) but not holding my breath... just yet.

Yes but I also had a keyword move to the #1 position so I can't state if google caused an increase in the traffic or the keyword position.

What, in your opinion, caused the move to #1 position? Obviously, Google

I, too, think something's up. I noticed a thread in the Amazon Associate Discussion Boards today where someone reported their review site had seen at least one keyword that had dropped in rankings sometime before June suddenly pop back up to the top a couple of days ago.

Another WF member contacted me today saying he'd seen significant improvement in rankings for a site that he believes was hit by Penguin.

I also had a couple of pages on my one Penguin hit site move up more than they have in months in just the past day or two.

Can't tell what's shifting but there are just a few little signals I'm finding/hearing/seeing that make me think there's been some sort of change.

This has nothing to do with Google.

Web traffic dips in August as its the most popular time in the year for people to go on holiday and overall web traffic increases towards the end of August.

Has happened every year for as long as I can remember and I've been doing this 10 years+

Interesting observation... I can see that... However, one of my sites that was hit by Penguin went from 2,000 google unique hits per day down to 100 - 200 hits overnight back in April. It was like that for months and all of a sudden last few days in shoot back up, not to the same levels as it used to be but it went up to over 500 on one day, and it looks like an upward trend.

If it was the time of years, then how come my traffic stayed the same for several months since the update?

What is the URL of your website?

Well if your site was hit by penguin then its obviously not a natural seasonal increase/decline in traffic.

I agree with Matthew. It seems like more people are searching than have been recently. Still, you may also have seen a jump in rankings at the same time.

There is something weird going on. Apart from the traffic surge, adsense account holders are receiving messages that the ad units don't comply with the site. Googled it up and it says the problem is on Google's part! O well, let's hope for a continued increase in traffic

Just checked my stats. Surge is still ongoing. Will try to check in next week. Normally, quick adjustments don't last this long.

ROTFLMAO! I thought only the small percentage of webmasters who get hit
posted on the WF. Nice to see one of the 99% for a change.

Anybody else seeing SERP movement or traffic increase?

Last week Wednesday hits on my sites increased by 50% then on Thursday they doubled but on Friday they increased by 25% from the pre-Wednesday level and now the hits are back to normal though I'm surging in SERP in new keywords so increased traffic should follow if this trend persists. One of my Penguin hit site is also rising even though I have not made any changes to the site.

Do you think its possible that google had like a 3 or 6 month penalty that has ended hence the increase in traffic and SERP?
