Hi all,

I just recently purchased a new domain (.org)

The Keyword gets around 4,000 searches a month.

Firstly I got 20 unique 400 word articles created! Once these where done, i set up my site and added 10 articles to it. 1 of the articles was about 700 words long, this is for my home page. For the rest of the articles i squeduled them, 1 to be published every/2-3 days.

I then got some relevant backlinks (x2) from related sites with page rank. Two days later Im indexed on Google On Page 5 for my main Keyword.

I then continued to get backlinks at at very steady space, backling to other pages also. I varied my anchor text, got a few more articles published, slowly started creeping up the rankings and BOOM......today i'm number one baby!!

I'm thinking about creating my own WSO about how i did this and the services i use!

I just want you guy's to know that you can rank new sites with medium competition!!

Happy marketing warriors

Congratulations. Its satisfying when it happens. Your method though isn't special, its been heard on here for years so unless you can offer something new / valuable in your WSO I'm not sure that will sell. You would probably make more money from monetizing that site. Rinse and repeat now and make some more sites using the same method.

Congrats it's nice when this happens.

But I'm sure this is a keyword in which all the sites on page 1 had basically no SEO done to them. All it would take is some relevant links and you're there.

The problem is that most of these opportunities are for things that are near impossible to make cash from. Obscure non-commercial and no real way to monetise the traffic. (not saying this is what you've done, but people will find it hard to replicate your method for a profitable space)

Yes sure i know what you mean! It's not a future business that's for sure, but it's a good way to bring in more multiple income streams, or even sell the site on Flippa? Rinse and repeat i guess

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I've found that many people on top of G go after the wrong keywords and don't use the best keywords for making money. For example you might find that everyone is using SEO as a keyword. It's true, Lot's of searches and a very competitive keyword. (Over 11 million searches a month globally and over 2million a month locally.)
Yet, SEO quote has only 5400 global and 2400 local. SEO quote is a keyword that if some searches it they are ready to buy.
Point is that sometimes the primary keywords aren't all that great anyway!

By the way, Great job on your website and I wish you more success to come.

Keep on building those backlinks.. Don't stop until you get a firm ranking.

Google will tend to temp rank new sites that are highly optimized. You have to keep on building to ensure it's relevant and google will reward you for it

Congrats but I don't see a wso here. Focus on replicating your results and fine tuning your methods. One lucky strike without proof of longevity doesn't mean much.

You basically already gave away your method. Post content build backlinks.

Got to rain on the parade here guys.

      A) You don't know the serp, the keywords or even the level of competition. The OP hasn't shared any of that SO its really pointless and foolish to be waiting on a WSO

      B) new sites rank temporarily on Google ALL THE TIME and then fall to page 5 or worse. Its called QDF (Query deserves freshness). essentially google can rank a sit because its new and timely and then drop it just as fast plus in this case no one has even asked if the OP was logged in. People say they are ranked number one all the time who are not but think they are because of Google's personalized search where it puts up sites that you visit (like your own) up top.

OP you need to slow your roll. Having one new site ranked temporarily that may fall like a rock is not time to be thinking about offering a WSO. Thats how trashy SEO WSOs that rip people off are born.

Interesting point. I would have to agree with this.

To add to that, make sure you are not also getting personalized results on Google. That would make you think you are ranking on top when in fact you are not. Have you tried checking it this way? Go to pagewash.com. Browse Google from there. See if the ranking looks different.

Otherwise, that's a really good job! Congratulations.

This is awesome info! Even while using incognito mode in chrome it looks like I was still getting served some personalized results, while not signed in to any google service.

Great point Mike. I don't want to piss on anyone's chips but 20 x 400 articles is a lot of work.

My sites rank for a lot LESS. I'm talking posts with less than a 100 words and zero backlinks. It's great that you are taking action but don't jump the gun just yet.

Like Mike pointed out, QDF can tank you at anytime...

Oh, one more comment on this matter.

You can have the # One Spot 0n Google for every possible keyword - but if your landing page or your website is poorly done and does not convert, it's all for nothing. Just bragging rights. If your site does not convert into sales, you would be better off paying a pro to change that outcome.

Well, that's my two cents. (Kinda funny when you think about it because two cents is probably overpayment for my advice.)

Ok guy's thanks for the positive reviews and feedback from most of you

It's funny how other's "think they know it all" based on there own preferences....sorry but this pissed me off and i see it all ther time on here! I'm sure some of you know what im talking about!!

Apparently my site won't stay there.....ok lol!!

Anyway, ive always created new sites and tried to rank them, the purpose of this one it to see what Google really want's! My stratergy to ranking this site is mostly underlayed on the site it's self, I've completley steped away from any SEO service, even those here on the warrior forum! I've found certain links and techniques that have given me super fast results.

Yes i know it's to early for an WSO, but this will mainly how i configured my site and the services i've used! I know this will stick! This is exactly what Google want's, and that is exactly what ive done, Im even seeing pages from my site getting traffic, higher in the serps, facebook likes etc....

You will find that sites do get ranked quickly to start with before finding their level. The trick is to be consistant with your link building and content.

If you can repeat the process say 8-10 times with the same results, then you have a WSO and a process worth selling.

Just a suggestion...why not approach an existing offline biz and see if you can rank them for a keyword they're struggling with.

Offer to only get paid if you produce the result (page 1, position 5+ or whatever).

Good for testimonial. Just a thought, probably a waste of time though.

That's a bad idea. You shouldn't try experimenting on the website of a real business. After all the updates in 2012, you can destroy the rankings of a website and cripple a business.

If you do not know what you are doing, stay far away from real businesses.

    WARNING!!!!

Your site is currently undergoing what is known as the 'honeymoon period' with Google. It is very easy to rank any brand new domain in the first 2-3 weeks of its lifetime.

I would expect that in the next 14 days your site will take a dive down the SERPS as the honeymoon period expries.

When this happens just keep on doing wwhat you are doing, do not stop or slow down. After a few more weeks the site will reestablish itself at its 'actual' position and then you can keep working to push it from there.

This is just a natural part of the process that I see with every new domain personally

Hold your horses, as the OP stated that it is a new domain, the positive results in the SE's might just be some form of Google dance or as what Mike Anthony says: QDF (Query deserves freshness).

Wait for a month or two and see how the rankings stack up, or down. But still, you might be onto something good there, so good luck!

So relax a bit, soon your bubble will burst (I just have burst it hopefully).

Don't get your hopes up, don't launch a WSO and study harder because you sound like all the other noobs, just like I once was. In the pit - that is SEO.

I'd say refine your methods and test them on another site. If the results are replicated then you have something, otherwise you may want to do some more experimenting.

Also, make sure to use a rank tracker, or do a 'clean' search in google to measure results. If you're checking from your own computer, where you do most of your work, then you're probably getting skewed personalized results that may not necessarily be correct...

    Good luck

Haha, you've done more than most bud by ranking a site. Most people just look at the screen and wonder why they aren't making money.

Congrats and enjoy traffic from Google

Don't forget, Google gives better ranking for new sites, specially with .org - Getting # 1 may be easy in this case, but maintaining may be harder, keep going on what you are doing for few weeks to make sure you are stable there.

That's rue.. The best thing is that you have a quality article and quality backlinks that directly landed to your home page but you can also do not that quality backlink but you should link it to your tier one. To be safe.. you can work with social network and media.

blend, good job on taking action and doing what you have done BUT like others have pointed out, your rankings will drop... in a big way, meaning from number 1 to page 4 or N/A.

What has been your average per day on traffic? You mentioned the keyword gets 4000 searches monthly... did you tick that "Exact Match" box in the Google keyword tool?

Alot of anal retentive people in this thread. How many of you jumped up and down for joy when you made your first $$$ online? I know I did, and it was less than $3, but it was still money I made online, it's what motivated me to keep building a business. I would have expected a little more from some of the older members in here, let the guy enjoy his moment in the sun.

Even if your site drops off, you had a taste of what it's like to sit on the first page of Google, you've had the taste of first site rankings so don't stop and even if you do drop off the first page for your primary keyword, it doesn't mean you can't rank your internal or future articles. Just remember, 5 keywords which get 250-500 local searches per month, ranking on the first 5 spots on Googles first page is worth alot more than 1 keyword getting 5000 searches per month sitting on the top spot of the second page.

It's what he posted that concerns me a little. WSO, really? I mean, really?

I'm all for motivating others and all that good stuff. I really am.

When I made my first $$ online I quickly scaled it up to high four-figures in a month or so and then it all came crashing down with no hope to rebuild. It was a ******* wild ride emotionally/psychologically, lol.

Ah he's just excited about his first page ranking, let him enjoy his moment, he'll soon learn, experience is a brutal yet necessary teacher.

In fact the first money I made online via a clickbank product I still have. When I got my first ever cheque from clickbank for like $114 or whatever it was all them years ago, I never banked it. I still have it in my room somewhere lol.

Hey maybe you are right. I'm trying not to argue on forums as much as I used to... it's a growing experience.

Here's a fun fact: I think I still have my 2nd Amazon check somewhere. It's for a nice sum as well, I was moving to a different country and had to opt for payment by check... and then never cashed it for some reason.

Exactly what would you have expected? considering we are all anal retentive? That being older members we would jump up and down about someone saying they were going to launch a WSO because they temporarily ranked one site?

Perhaps we as older members should forget the countless SEO WSOs that have ripped people off over the years because they were not built on anything solid?

How can you miss that the issue that has brought almost every older "anal retentive" member to have the same position is not him saying he ranked but that it might be time for a WSO?

I expect that people can understand when they read a thread where so many people say the same thing - but we have something in common - my expectations were not met either.

Come on Mike, do you really think this guy would have created a WSO based on his results? He just got his first ever first page ranking. First it's a feeling of excitement, next comes the feeling pride, followed by wanting to gloat about his success then comes the realization of two things, the ranking is bouncing around and may have dropped off and why share something he has figured out on his own with the rest of the world.

If anything, his WSO idea would have been one of two things

        1. Over excitement.
        2. Sarcasm.

Going to agree with Mike Anthony here.

Just because you ranked 1 site doesn't even mean your method is WSO worthy.

I'm not saying you're not doing a good job and I'm not trying to put you down you definitely are on the right track and good job for doing that.

But on your next site you may be stuck off of page one for a long time or never even make it there.

Test, test, test and test some more. If this is a sure method that works EVERYTIME and you can prove it. Then you might have a WSO but then chances are somebody has already made that same exact WSO prior

Before you launch the wso, wouldn't it be better if you can rinse and repeat the same strategy for another site or couple more sites and see if you are getting the same kind of results? Wouldn't it be fair for your wso buyers if you test it out more thoroughly?
