Can you please tell me what topic are you exactly talking about to rank?

I immediately see that you have large "Advertise Here" blocks at the top of the page. That is one thing Panda or Penguin (can't remember which) penalized sites for. Also, it takes a long time to scroll down the page before content appears. Make the site a little more user friendly and it should become a little more Google friendly. Get your text higher on the page and be sure to name your images with keywords like "paper-texture1.jpg" or something like that.
Another problem is that your site is all over the place and not a specific niche. At a page rank 0 for that page, it will be hard to compete with others specific in that niche. Perhaps make more posts about the niche.

There are many factors that determine whether you are ranking well on Google. I can’t be absolutely certain (need to see your complete link profile), but you may conduct a check and see if these are what holding you back:

    Link Diversity & Popularity (possible)
Did a quick search on Majestic SEO,
    1st on Google - 279 backlinks from 77 domains.
    10th on Google - 66 backlinks from 33 domains.
Your Page - 89 backlinks from 16 domains.

Don't only go for quantity, focus on the quality. You mentioned that you did an article “blast”. This usually gives you a lot of backlinks, but most of the time, they are compromised by their quality.

And, try diversifying your link profile. Don’t only focus on Web 2.0 and article directories. Get more links from other sources such as social bookmarking, blog commenting, press releases, forum signatures, blog networks (choose carefully), etc…

    Anchor Text Optimization (possible)
How often did you use the "exact match keyword" as anchor texts in your backlinks?

I'm not sure about the rest but from what Majestic SEO shows, your top 5 backlinks have the exact match anchor text of "free paper textures".

Overdoing that is not encouraged. Penguin dislikes over-optimization. Try to diversify the anchor text so that no more than 20% of your link profile comes from exact match anchors.

    Hope this helps… :-)

But i see most of my competitors added banner on top of the page but their site is still in top position.. However it is not a problem for me.. i will delete that one. Second, what does this mean "your site is all over the place and not a specific niche. " can you please explain me a little bit. Thanks.

Blast mean i am doing everything manually without any automation software. Yes, i am also positing links in social bookmarking, blog commenting and forum signature.

20% mean like Free Paper Textures, 20% mean other keywords like vintage paper textures, 20% old paper textures.. do you mean like that ?

Once you've done that I would start a small tiered link building campaign.

Should hit the first page in 2-4 weeks

Don't expect to get traffic if your in the top 10 though, you need to be in the top 3 to make any kind of dent
Yeah i already have your diagram store in my HDD and today now i will follow all your guidlines to see the results.. Thanks..

Exact match anchor means ==> "free paper textures".

So, if you've built 100 backlinks, try not to have "free paper textures" as anchor text for more than 20 of them. The remaining 80 could be anything, or even naked links.

I'll admit, it's a strange thing that some people get affected by an ad change while others don't or some will get penalized for too many ads at the top and others don't seem to be affected. It may be the types of ads, or maybe that the other sites have established themselves well before. I know that sometimes adding an advertisement that is not Google's can push a site 2-3 pages back.
I may have mis-spoke about your content not being niche enough, but when I look at your site, you talk about photoshop, web design, seo, inspiration. Each of those subjects alone are large enough to be a website on their own. What is Google supposed to think your site should rank for best? Photoshop or SEO? Web design or inspiration? I realize your site is about web building, but the subjects you have are very big so you don't have enough focused content about any of the specific subjects to beat out sites that are all about SEO or all about Photoshop. It's just my opinion, but maybe as you add more it will be proven to be an authority of each, till then, it will take a lot more content to be competitive.
