How to index my site and get a rank in google?

What I usually do to get my site indexed quickly is to simply submit it to Google Webmaster Tools. It'll usually get indexed very quickly (in a day or two).

Otherwise, I'll just use the "Fetch" function in the tool.

submit ur website url to top directory with pr above 5...and do blog commenting on sites similar to ur site niche..
do forum posting as much as u can..

To index your site you have to create a sitemap and submit it to Google webmasters.It will take 3-4 days to get index or may be a week.There are several tools to Ping your site and get indexed them faster,but don't PING your site just let Google index it on its own.

And to rank your site do On-page SEO and Off-Page SEO both ethically and you will get rank according to the keywords competition you have chosen or the SEO work done.

to index your site is easy to do but to get rank of website is very tricky, it needs time we cannot do overnight

If you are working for a site and you have done some work then Google automatically index them.if you want to ping your work to Google then use some ping site for pinging.

Submit your blog to search engines, create robots.txt and sitemap.xml .. and don't forget to submit your sitemap.xml on google webmaster tools !!
