4 web sites with mixed Google results!!! Help!

Ok, Im desperately trying to figure out if Google is punishing my sites for too many ads above the fold, but there is no consistency.
I have two web pages with exact domain names that are titled: 2014XXXXXX.com
Both are STILL ranking very well after 3 months.
Both use my custom table right below header that has 5 Amazon affiliate text links....Also all my sites have one adsense image in right sidebar widget area.
I only have only 1 article on both these sites which shows Ive put next to nothing in effort into them, yet still rank well...
My OTHER 2 web pages are "my babies"... I also have the same table below header that has 5 unique Amazon affiliate links..
They use a silo structure...The home page has 2 unique 500+ word articles....The other 3 silos have on avergage of 2 unique 500 word articles, and one of them has three 300 word review posts..
One of the silos was ranking 7-10 for keyword for 1 month (Google dance)..But has now dropped out of top 300.
The other silo was ranking around 25-50 during initial google dance, but is no longer in top 300.
Ive done social bookmarking, press releases, all my articles have been accepted on top 3 article sites (and link back to my site)...I also created facebook, twitter and have youtube videos for each article page..
The only difference from my "babies" sites and the other two that are still ranking, is that I put 2 Amazon text links in each of my articles (on punished sites).......One of the 2014xxxxx ranking sites even has a footer with another 6 amazon links in it, but like I said Google is not punishing it. But it has no links in the content itself.
Has anyone had recent experience with either too many Amazon links on a site page or perhaps too many Amazon links above the fold.....Google seems very inconsistent here.
*All outgoing Amazon links are nofollow, and my internal SEO looks very good.
