How long does it take to rank a website

Hi Guys,

I know this is a rather general question. But if I started a brand new website on the 1st of the month. Then marketing with SEnuke or UBot, how long would it normally take before you started getting a decent amount of traffic?

On the other hand. what would be considered the best method to produce traffic quickly, forum posts, blog comments, article marketing, social media? Looking to know where i should be focusing my efforts.

Thanks in advance

Joe

If you have the money, look at paid advertising. Take some good paid advertising course to avoid getting burned (PM me for course recommendation).

If you don't have the budget, I would do forum posts, guest blogging, blog commenting and social media. I only use article marketing to get backlinks, not traffic.

Make sure you add super, high value on your site so your visitors will stick.

Your question ignores the whole idea of competition surrounding each particular keyword. Every keyword phrase has a different level of competition so while an experienced SEO could give you an average (I'd say one month) that info isn't particularly useful.

Really depends on competition, age of domain and how hard your willing to work at it. I would say 3-6 months is a good bet but maybe longer if new domain.

This is clearly another one of those threads where the OP is asking a blind person how is the view. IM isn't a place where idiots make real money, it takes work and a serious effort I find.

thanks for the replies. I was asking because I have never successfully ranked a website using SEO so i am still learning. I was just looking for a general window so I could say OK I'm not ranked yet, need to try harder. I have no clue in what time frame i should expect to see results. So in other words is it in best interests to work on 1 website for a week then leave it alone for a couple weeks to see how your efforts have paid off? How many sites do you guys attempt to perform SEO on at one time? Just one or many?

I can only speak from my own experience but I've built several product review sites for clients of mine that have been indexed within hours and ranked on page one of Google within days (2-4 days usually). This is due primarily to the fact that they are targeting low competition products.

    Here's some data:

Keyword #1: "mortgages" Time to ranking: "never"
Keyword #2: "yellow pencils with green erasers" Time to ranking: "24hours after indexing"

New site + SeNuke + UBot = Google BAN.

Didn't all the post Penguin and Panda whining teach you anything? In case you missed it, Google can spot an unnatural link profile from outer space, so DON'T DO IT!

    Hope this helps Good luck!

There is no definite answer to "how long it will take to rank a website?".
Competition as a lot to do with ranking a website and if those website on page one is purposely building backlinks, then it will need some to get to and stay at #1 .

I have three websites with one page on them. And I use my #1 backlink strategy that puts my websites on page two or one.
    Now;
Website A has 19,000 websites targeting that keyword.
Website B & C has 70,000+ websites targeting that keyword

And guess what Website B is on page 1 4days after link was built to it. While website A is struggling on page 3...

Yes, other factors might be at play but this says a lot... Ranking is always uncertain in google....

Even if you have all those Tools you need to use them wisely. You just can't your site with thousands of backlinks. Usually I start my sites with just 2 articles and then keep adding more articles like 1 in 2 days or 2 days. Never start doing heavy backlinking from the day 1. Wait for 2-3 weeks before you start getting backlinks to your site. Meanwhile ping your site, get some social bookmarking links, fb, twitter etc.

I can easily get a medium competition keyword hit the Page 1 in less than 1 month, but they won't stay there for long with the changes. You need to build backlinks gradually. Now I target to get my sites into Page 1 slowly in 2-3 months and they stay there longer considering all the recent algo changes.

I would also say that it all depends on the competition and then your onpage and offpage optimization. Its really very hard to say the exact time. But in general if we talk, it takes around 3-6 months to rank a new website.

All the link building tactics are effective to get a higher search engine positioning and huge traffics but its totally depends on quality of your content and sites that you choose for the submit. If you submit quality contents on reputed sites then its much effective to get better results.

I'm tring to rank a website I created for eyelash enhancer. I wrote articles, spun them and submitted to about 1000 sites. Paid for an SENuke campaign on fiverr and got about 5000 backlinks from that. After all this I am still not even ranking in the top 100 and its been over a week. My pages are indexed in google i am just not ranking. I'm not getting any traffic thus far. My keywords are really low ranking keywords also so i am not sure why Im still failing at it. any opinions.
PS - if you're going to leave a sarcastic answer, lets not and say we did. I'm here trying to learn not be put down. Thanks in advance.

So you didn't do any link building?

Those aren't worthwhile links, I guess you already found that out.

Unless your in a low competition niche you are unlikely to see much SERP movement from a SeNuke blast. There are ways to use these types of tools effectively, but honestly it would most likely take you weeks/months to figure it out. And there are much better programs than Senuke.

If your looking for fast traffic, I would say write a linkbait article, then use social media to promote it. Twitter, Reddit, FB, etc. Find some niche relevant forums, and look for posts that you can comment on with a link back to your linkbait article. Ideally you would already have a presence in the forum.

Without knowing more about your niche, website, and desired rankings it is hard to recommend other routes. If you have a low competition EMD try doing a round of PAD submissions. If your going after a high competiton niche, few things will work better than developing a high pr self hosted blog network.

Another thing that always works well is analyzing the backlinks of the top 10, 20, 30, etc. Then replicate as many of their backlinks as possible.

Try getting some high PR links (private networks). Also try some web2.0s and then hit those with "mass" type links - SEnuke/Scrapebox/Xrumer.

          Press Releases are great as-well.

Well as it turns out my site was ranking this whole time. I feel like an idiot now. I was using rank tracker to see where i was ranking for my keywords but I didn't insert the proper URL linking to the page that I was trying to rank. All of my keyword urls were pointing to my main index page. So once i switched out all the urls to the proper ones it actually was showing rankings. A couple of the keywords were on the first page even, but majority of them were far back like pos 30 or 60. But at least I have a starting point now and can track my efforts. I can't believe something so simple and I screwed it up. Thanks to everyone for their input on this post.

With a good content marketing and good back links you should start getting some bit of traffic in days.

Forum post - make constructive post on high traffic forums related to your niche.

Blog comment - Find top blogs in your niche with lots of traffic and comment intelligently.

Article marketing - Write quality, error free content on great topic, optimize it and post on top article directories like EZA, articlesbase and the likes.

Social media - Get a fan page, twitter, get friends or followers, update post and interact with your friends/users and post your offer from time to time.

First of all there is no the BEST answer for your question, as far as search engine optimisation is not a math equation.

    Anyhow,

Before starting SEnuke or UBot or any link building activities. Make sure the below :

    1. You have found the keywords that has decent amount of exact searches

    2. You have categorized the keywords and determine a nice site structure which is easier for navigation by its users or search engines. (Having a nice menu does not mean that your site structure is perfect, you have to go further beyond that like Wikipedia pages)

    3. Try to target long tail keywords for your inner pages

    4. Get unique content and post it

    5. Make sure your titles, descriptions and etc are SEO friendly, and make sure that you are not over-doing it

    6. Launch the site & setup your social media official profiles and add them to your site.

    7. Start to drive some traffic from social media for sometime

    8. If your content is really good and your site structure is really good, you may get noticed by Google and may get some ranks like Top 100, etc. (For me it worked, that is why I am telling this)

    9. Start link gathering

    10. Keep it going with Social media and link building, be patience, you may get TOP ranks
