Adwords and my adsense blogspots
- SEO |
adwords. Many of you fellow adsense users know
what I'm talking about. I have always just tossed them.
Until this one. A couple of days ago, I received a different
kind of adwords offer. One geared for blogs. It said I can
get more readers of my adsense blogs by using adwords.
(Note how they really were not talking about sales or
revenue) Quite an intriguing proposal.
It then dawned on me, what have been waiting for?
After all, $100 of free ads can't ever be wrong, right?
Just never thought about it.
Having helped a few do adwords, I figured what the heck.
So, I decided to use the first $50 as testing. Chose one
ad, one blog, 30 keywords. Got 18 clicks on the ads for
the first $40. I then kept the 2 keywords that were getting
99% of the clicks, ditched the rest. I also tweaked the
blog. I did a new blog post, basically doing a huge content-ish
article on the dot com that goes with it. (I should have
done that first, dang it!)
I should mention that those 18 clicks earned jack squat. Zip,
as far as I could tell.
Once I tweaked the first article and keywords, things brightened
up. Looks like I'll make about $40 for the two days of running.
I know. $100 for $40. Well, that was $40 free, and, it did give
that blog a whole bunch of publicity. Keep in mind that the
$40 came from about the last $60, and my CPC had been lowered
from $1.75 to $.97.
Probably with a little tweaking, I actually could break even.
Who knows what that would lead to? Linkbait? Bookmarks?
It may pay off in the end.
BUT....I am not even thinking about going on with adwords.
The whole point of this post is just to tell you that if you
got a free $100 adwords coupon from google to use with
your adsense sites, your blog would be a perfect match.
You can't lose. Free ads, publicity, and maybe a few extra bucks.
I should out another disclaimer. I do have a plethora of blogspot
blogs that are quite highly ranked. Google probably is more
lenient with blogspot. My ad was approved and spun immediately.
