Using PLR on Adsense Sites

I recently bought an adsense guide over in the WSO section and thought I might dip my toes into that pool.

I have TONS of PLR (as probably most of you do, too) on my hard drive. I am curious if I could build an authority site with the PLR (unedited) and monetize it with adsense. I honestly don't have time to completely rewrite the PLR, but I also don't want to put trash out there, either. That only makes it hard on everyone else.

Since its been years since I've even looked at adsense, can some of you share your experiences with PLR and adsense post Panda and Penguin?

Thanks in advance!

Quite simply I wouldn't do it....

PLR has its uses but I wouldnt use it on an adsense site.

It can take a few minutes to re write PLR or can head over to odesk and pay someone else to re write your content.

Build a site with a good foundation and it will serve you for years to come and you wont have to worry about anything that google throws at you :-)

Safe to assume it will be duplicate content. Also an authority site goes well beyond just the number of articles/content on the site, it is a matter of how well your site is trusted. Given your site will just be duplicate PLR content it will be as far as authority as possible.

I appreciate the honesty from both! I might have an opportunity to have some capital to pump into my IM biz, so I think I'll research and do it right. Lazy never gets you anywhere, and I know that!

This may not be the way you want to go but Free blogger blogs have been ranking very well since the last google update with PLR on them. I have several on page one for keywords with over 1000 exact match and good CPC.

I noticed this also, Ive seen quite a few blogger blogs up there in the top results recently, and they seem to be getting indexed fast as well, more so after the update anyway.

Duplicate content isn't the issue here. Google defines duplicate content as content that exists on more than one page of your own site.

The problem is ranking in Google when you have the same content as other, more authoritative sites who add other value. Just think about big news sites that all report the same news articles, but they add other content to those pages also.

Depending on the keywords you're trying to rank for, you may do just fine with lightly edited PLR - if it's well written and you're consistently adding content to the site. Even if you have excellent content, Google doesn't have a lot of interest in ranking you if your content isn't fresh and your site updated. They continue to modify their algorithms with that as one of their objectives.

Take a look at the keyword competition first to see if you even have a chance of ranking against other sites.

If the competition isn't too bad, then you can start posting PLR content. But make sure it's edited and adds real value for people. And intersperse it with other, unique content also.

If you don't want to use the PLR on an Adsense site, you should also think about using it for short reports that you can give away to build a list. PLR can be used in a lot of places where ranking isn't an issue.

    Good luck!

      Nicely answered :-)

I see things like this... using PLR on any site is not a bad thing but it has to be in the mix with your own fresh unique content...

It doesnt take long to rewrite PLR and you can knock out content pretty quick :-)

I wouldn´t risk my adsense account for this and if you spin the text it would be hard to read.

    Sounds somewhat questionable to me.

If nothing else, split test it and see what kind of results you get from it.

We could spend days talking about it, or spend days doing it and then actually have real world stats to compare.

I've also seen Blogger sites, both indexed and using Adsense, with PLR articles.
