Why doesnt google basically make thousands of their own rubbish websites...well they might aswell..

So google thinks it can now use paid results, well thats dumb because people want a search engine that actually gives them relevant results and the best content that's on the internet for the keyword they used.
So google with all this greed and paid search results will affect search quality and google will go bankrupt.
Also google is adding more and more of their google....websites well its abit like dictatorship that and it is as though google is replacing everything they can with their own product or something they are getting money from.

    They have allways been using paid results, thats what PPC is. They are a buisness. Granted a greedy one but still. I'm not sure Google will go bankrupt immediatly it annoys the people who want to make money out of them for free.

    This has been going on for a long time and it is bigger than ever.

    This is nothing new they have been doing this for a long time and only recently been magnifying this behavior with their Google checkout products. Ultimately if it works for them though continuing is not they will not.

    They are not a dictatorship as competition is open and available in Facebook in fact this threatening their power but I do understand the temptation to make the comparison.

    Google needs to walk the fine line between providing quality and making money. Google could make thousands of their own websites, but why should they when most IM'ers have been doing that for them. We all know how that has turned out those websites post Penguin.

    Google is more about providing optimal websites in their search results that will make them the most money. Take that for what it's worth.

    Google is a business like any other and they will attempt to influence every search result in their own favour. You can't really blame them for wanting to maximise their profits - it's why we're all in business, right?!

    If their tactics get to the point of annoying users so much that they lose their share of search then maybe they'll make changes. Sadly, the vast majority of searchers are completely unaware and uninterested in what causes anguish and heartbreak to us marketers. Google have 90-95% of search share and honestly I can't see them losing that any time soon.

    PS Were you aware that many people actually go to Google and search for a URL rather than just typing the URL in their address bar?? I saw someone doing this a few months ago and assumed they were new to the internet, but since then I have witnessed numerous clients doing this, and these are people who own businesses...

      LOL No kidding right but I think he's just trying to blow off some steam about how frustrating things like this can be at times. Seriously why can't corporations just do what's best for our businesses not their own lol.

      I made no reference to any possible ignorance of searchers. That being said agree that many may not know that this is taking place but it truly does not matter to them as long as they're getting quality results.

    i think to combat google websites need to come up with really great unique ideas and google will look really dumb with their paid for results and non of the new brilliant websites on their 1st pages and then people will then click on bing and think wait bing has loads more better websites.

    The thing is though, Bing's 10x more crap than Google, even with Google's ads all over the place. Although I have a love/hate relationship with the big G, I would never use any other search provider!

    So what your saying is, you want to monetize the he$$ out of your sites, but you don't want Google to monetize their site (Google SERPs).
