SEO & Keyword Dilema!!!
- SEO |
I'm relativly new to this and so I got a TON of value from Andrew Hansen's thread "0 to 1000 Free Targetted Visitors In 30 Days - Step By Step"
Andrew lays out the steps of researching the best keywords to hit to generate traffic quick.
I followed the steps and now have a list of 80ish keywords that I got from looking for higher traffic words with low competition using the adwords keyword tool. I intend to narrow it down to 30ish words by checking all of the terms on Google Search and eliminating ones that have more SEO competition. However, I am a little confused about a few things:
- Why does Andrew say to look for keywords with search volume between 500 & 5000 average searches per month? I found some low competition words with WAY more than 5000. Perhas this is because my niche (DJing) is a lot bigger than most?
- The words that I found with the highest traffic and lowest competition using the Adwords Keyword tool aren't the most relevant to my business. I am offering and selling information to DJs, teaching them how to DJ & about the music industry. A great example of a high traffic / low competition / low relevance term is "hard dj". It averages 60,500 views per month and has pretty much zero competition. I searched the term "hard dj" in Google and all of the results are relevant to my industry (song names etc) but have nothing to do with DJ learning. What do you think?
- I also found some high traffic keywords that have low competition but don't make grammatical sense. An example of one of the best looking ones is "dj equipment dj". I don't know if anyone would actually type this so is it work going after with SEO?
Your thoughts and advice are appreciated!
