Hey guys,
Newb SEO question here for a medical training niche just trying to figure out whats going on (and most importantly if this is normal). I have attached some screenshots to help out.

July 26th: My site was currently sitting at avg position #75 (as per Webmaster Tools)

July 27th: received 185 back links from one external domain. Attachment 14728

Same day: Webmaster Tools Impressions dropped significantly, and site dropped to position #250 and has stayed low, as per Webmaster ToolsAttachment 14729

Now on Aug 29th, I had a spike of about 500 impressions, for keywords from my images (classroom, twitter icon)Attachment 14730

Anyways thanks in advance for reading and responding, if you need any additional info please let me know.

  • Yeah you can definitely get dropped because of backlinks. Is this a new site then?

    • Yes the site is fairly new. It was launched in late May. How do I recover from this? Any suggestions?
  • Are you able to get those links removed?
  • Add quality content and quality backlinks. If you do that, chances are your site will pop back up and maybe even higher than it was previously ranked.

    • First, Remove all the low quality & penalized backlinks and then start to build only quality backlinks with fresh & unique contents.
