Top 10 Link Building Techniques

Hey guys what are your top 10 link building strategies? Care to share them here?

Here are some of what works for me... link building strategies that works to others sometimes don't to others. But the bottom line is having high quality back link will always work.

1. Web 2.0 back links - go to sites like blogger, wordpress, livejournal, squidoo, hubpages and other authority web 2.0 sites. Create a blog that related to your niche and regularly update it at least once or twice a month and get back link from them. One way of building seo back bone.

2. Press release - One of the oldest link building technique that never outdated. Very effective way to get quality back link

3. Wiki Sites - Create a good content about your site and post it in wiki sites

4. Document sharing websites - Most document sharing websites are authority sites. Convert your articles into pdf or word document then submit. Many SEO and link builder don't use them.

5. Video sites - Create video and share to video sites, they will bring you traffic and back links

6. Related Niche Blog Commenting - Find blogs that related to your niche and leave real comment not spam like comments. Avoid those blog post that have to many comments made by spammers.

7. Image sharing - Share your pictures or images. Info graphics is very hot right now.

[b]8. Article directory Submission - Still works, just choose the top article directories

9. RSS Feed directory - One way to get back link fast, if your topic is interesting you will hundreds or thousands of syndication.

10. Guest Blogging - I put this at number 10 because I am not doing it my self, from time to time I am paying someone to do it for me. It takes weeks or month before getting one. But many big names in the SEO world believes that this is the most effective way to get quality back links.

    • I kinda disagree here. Forum posting is a great way to build TRAFFIC. The links aren't going to be all that beneficial.

      - How many pressreleases do you submit monthly?
      - Do you write yourself or outsource? If outsource, anyone you recommend?

  • Those resources are only effective if you're actively tracking and measuring everything.

    Is it necessary to use all the methods of link building, can't I rank higher with one or two methods of link building?

    • You can stick to what works for you. But it best to at least implement 2-4 strategies. In my personal opinion after the Penguin and Panda update it is not safe anymore to use one link building strategy only.

  • Excellent & amazing Link Building Techniques but I prefer Guest Blogging technique for Link Building. Its true fact about Guest Blogging it tacks to much time to get approved but it most effective technique to get back links.
  • Creating a small 4 spoke or 8 spoke link wheel that point to your main domain that creates a a lot of back links with web 2.0 sites like Squidoo, Hubpages. I use these document sharing sites as part of my link wheel scribd, docshare, wiki sites and submitting articles to article and ezine directories like ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com. This is a very powerful technique that I use which incorporate several back linking methods that help me generate a constant flow of traffic to my websites.
  • That's a great post but I think no need to use all these method, you can choose some and have your own strage with them, that's also good for backlink.
  • Due to changes of SEO algorithm it is important to implement effective link building strategies just like edpudol1973 mentioned. Though its hard and really takes time as long as its quality and will give good results better do it the proper way.

      One way of distributing your statement about your site or product. If you're lucky, you may get a huge exposure from big media networks.

      They are not as powerful as they are 2-5 years ago. The problem with wordpress templates is that they leave foot print, because backlink from wordpress templates are usually site wide which I guess google considered this type of backlinks as unnatural.

  • I look up BL's of page 1 competitor sites with Market Samurai or Traffic Travis (free) and go get as many as I can that are relevant.
