Hello Warriors,

As per the google's recent update using variation of your anchor text is matter?

Ex. seo services company, professional seo services, cheap seo services, click here, know more.

In above I have mentioned some exact keywords and some non related keywords.

So it is right to create backlinks also with click here and know more or whatever it is?

No one knows EXACTLY what Google is looking for. But here's my guess.

If your site looks like an authority, Big G will rank you.

Think of making your site as a place where people interested in your subject will want to "hang out" or come to often. Things to include:

    1. various back links like you mentioned
    2. links OUT to great resources
    3. relevant videos/pictures to keep them engaged (keeps bounce rate low)
    4. great content (as opposed to spammy/ spun) content
    5. great social interaction (shares, likes, pins, back and forth dialog, etc.)

Think of it like a Squidoo lens. You go out and look for resources specifically on that page's topic. You tell the visitor to go there for more info. They share your awesome page with others in that niche. They come back for more. All great signs in Google's eyes, IMO.

    Hope that answered your question

If your trying to vary anchor-text, IMO your better off keeping the anchor-text relevant to the root keyword, then add relevant plain text before and/or after the anchor-text keyword.

    Example:

    Root keyword: seo services company

So if I use seo services company or seo services and sometime click here or know more to create backlinks from different sources.

Above is good or bad? (Specially click here or know more)

I don't use irrelevant words (click here, etc...). It's not going to hurt anything to use irrelevant words, at the same time I doubt it would help, considering it has nothing to do with the page your pointing links at.

I understand this totally and was knowing about uses of exact keywords that we are going to focus. But thing is that someone told me that this google update is effect for this kind of variation using (click more, know more, etc..)

It's a must to vary your anchor text.

I have a small tip here.

Let's say the primary keyword of your money page is Best Camera.

You can go over to Google and type this keyword in search box. Drag all the way down and you can see a place where it says Searches related to best camera.

Check out all the keywords that Google thinks is related to your keyword:

    best point and shoot camera
    best digital camera 2011
    best camera for photography
    best professional camera
    best dslr camera
    best camera brand
    best camera 2011
    best slr camera

Why not use all these as anchor text if applicable?

So it doesnt matter whether these keywords have any searches or not?

I advise not to be too obsessed with the search volume of anchor text. Sprinkling some relevant anchor texts that are having low volume is fine. What we want is appear natural in the eyes of Google.

The matter of using a combination of actually variety of keywords when doing link building has been a hot discussion for years, nothing new but since today everyone is talking about the recent major Google updates, so they think link anchors are becoming more and more significant and they are actually because they are incoming votes. The fact is that a good collection of links will definitely have lots of variations and even the phrases you have mentioned like "Click Here" could be among them.

Natural link building occurs when your site wins packs of editorial links from other sources and blogs, usually because of the valuable contents it contains and so, since everyone will definitely not use the exact same anchors and clickable words, so dozens of terms will be noticed. If a lot of links point to your site using the primary keyword, perhaps you can create combinations, long-tail key phrases, even some links will have your domain name as well as terms like Click Here.

The main thing I was trying to point out above is to make sure & use relevant plain text surrounding the anchor-text.

Make sure the surrounding plain text on the backlink page is relevant to the target page that your pointing the backlink at.

If you can get a relevant keyword in the backlink page title it would also help.

While varying anchor texts may help you, you have to understand the logic behind it and that is to make natural links or better yet, attract natural links.

If you want to rank highly, you have to create an authority website in a particular niche and attract natural referral links. That's the only real way to go without thinking about 'tricking' the SEs
