Google is wagging war against one of my sites.

Good morning all,

About a year ago, I had a really big site (lots of subjects) and at one time it started getting me a decent income through Adsense. At one time I was getting about 7000 visitors and about $600 a month and growing.

One day I was checking my Adsense and noticed that the income dropped dramatically. Over the next 7 days, the income and the number of visitors dropped to almost nothing.

Upon further investigation, I noticed that my site was nowhere to be found on Google. It was totally de-indexed.

I sent an email to Google to ask for the reason, but was not surprised for the lack of response.

Knowing that if I pursued the matter further will be like hitting by head against a brick wall, I decided to bite the bullet and I pulled down the whole site and started all over.

I started the site again but this time I concentrated on one niche only.
This of course did not help in getting my site re-indexed in Google again, although it is still indexed in Yahoo and MSN.

A few days ago, I also noticed that no Adsense ads were appearing on my site. At first I thought that I did something wrong with the way I was displaying the ads. It turned out that this was not the case.

What I did was I removed the Adsense ads and monetized it Amazon and eBay ads.

So, my question here is 2 fold, if I want to get this site re-indexed in Google:

1- If I move this domain to another hosting company, will this give this domain name a fresh start?
2- Shall I just dump this domain name and not renew it when it expires?

Would really appreciate your input on this matter.
Regards,
Khal

You'd have to ask for another inclusion or get a whole new site name. idk if you coupd just change your site name and get reindexed with google or not

    how should we know?

I certainly had my own share of rants and ANTI google comments, but to be honest, if they pull a site there is usually a reason.

Since no one knows your site and WHY it was banned - how can we give advice?

Yes..you certainly can start-over on a new domain...but same thing might happen again. So what is the reason it got deindexed?

The site, at the time, was structured as follows:

1- A home page that talked in general about the Internet.
2- The site was then divided into directories with each directory having a few pages on different topics such as "Boating, Camping, Computers, Adsense, SEO, Cats, Dogs, Cars, etc".
3- Absolutely no porn or illegal subjects.
4- I have to admit that a lot of the content was not original.

Now, somebody is bound to say "aha, you had way too many different niches on your site", or "you did not have original content".

I would like to say, OK I get that and I'm willing to start over.
My two original questions still stand:

1- Do I dump this domain name?
2- If I move it to another hosting company, will this give it a new fresh start?

      Thanks.

Several years ago you could do one of two things:
    - Wait roughly 6 months, cleaning up any problems in the meantime
    - Kill the site (no parking/404/etc, just "site not found") for a month or two

I have no idea if these approaches still work or not though.

  • It looks like you need a new domain name. Google has taken out your website entirely including your domain name from their system...

I have seen this in action by Google many times, its sad because every time this happens, its reported that Google doesn't even bother to give reason for why they did this.

Now days I think the only way around this is by setting up a new domain name, and changing the content around. Don't just upload the same site onto your new domain name.

but there should be some reason why the site was just thrown out of index, also wanted to ask did you try BH ? or did you try to find if all the content was copied on some other site.

It really depends on what content you are serving in your website.

It doesn't make sense if your website is bringing in money for google and they want to delist it.

would you let me to review your website?

I've had quite a few "thin affiliate" sites (mostly using Build A Niche Store software) deindexed by Google when I was a total newbie.

I am just now getting to the point where I feel confident enough to build the sites into useful resources and request reinclusion.

*IF* your site was producing well before the de-indexing, I definitely recommend trying to plead your case with Google and get back in.

*IF* your site was simply producing meager results, or none at all... Just let the hosting/domain name run out. Don't bother fixing something not *worth* fixing.
