Importance of Niches of Domain's Backlinks

Hey,

When buying a domain name with natural backlinks, is there any importance for the niches of its backlinks ?
For instance if a domain has backlinks related to Finance, is that means I can only use it for Finance related websites in the future ?

Thanks.

If they are natural, you should find that the niches are fairly relevant. I guess there are situations in which a site may receive a large number of links from non-related sites, but it is rare for a niche site.

The Penguin update that Google recently rolled out took this into account openly. If a majority of your backlinks come from finance sites, and your site is about dog food, that could signal unnatural links in Google's eyes and cause the next penguin update to trigger a rankings drop. I would recommend staying within the broad niche that the backlinks are coming from to avoid a penalty. You don't have to be ultra-specific, but its better to be safe in this case.

Thanks, but I'm talking about buying a new domain and then make a website on it. Will the website has to be related to the niche of its backlinks ? and how much importance do they have ?

Ah, Gotcha. It doesn't "have" to be, but the Penguin update did take that into account so you could see some negative results if you have backlinks exclusively from finance sites and create a completely unrelated website. Other factors are taken into account such as the number of links we are talking about and how specific the finance related content surrounding those links is.

"Will the website has to be related to the niche of its backlinks?"

I'm sorry, I really do not understand what you're trying to ask. What I think you're trying to say was completely answered by Ryan in post #2. The Penguin update included several penaties for websites with unnatural backlink portfolios. One of those penalties was based on the content relevancy of your backlink sources. Therefore, if the backlink portfolio of a site has too many unrelated websites, it can negatively impact that sites rankings.

Again, I think that is what you are trying to figure out. But Ryan already addressed those points. So if you still are unsatisfied with these responses, perhaps you should re-word your original question in a way that's less ambiguous.

If you are looking to rank for dish washers and the old backlinks are in finance you'll see a bit of a trust boost but it won't do too much for ranking. You're better off grabbing it then linking to your new site from it. You'll see more juice that way.
