Hey there Yukon:
Is it ok to cross link between silo landing pages or no? I understand that linking out from child pages to child pages of another silo is not recommended but is a link from one landing page to another also not in my best interest? Cheers.

No body will proffer any solution because you have already narrowed yourself.

There are thousands of people here that can help you.

Remember, Yukon is not 100% vast and can never be, nothing personal anyway.

Instead of this, you should PM him.

I'm sure that others could also benefit from Yukon's advice on the matter. Thanks for bumping my thread though

I don't know what Yuk would say, but I recommend

    - do not interlink child pages that have different parents (landing pages)
    - DO interlink parents (landing pages) that are related, and where it makes sense.
    - DO link child pages to landing pages that may not be the parent of that child where appropriate (but not vice-versa).

Yes, linking landing pages is fine.

Have a look at Amazon & how they basically turn categories into mini sites.
    • Electronics & Computers > TV & Video

In the Amazon example, once you land on the TV & Video page the left sidebar links are 100% focused on TV & Video products (not clothes, lawnmowers, etc...). Amazon takes it a step further & nest the sub-categories deeper (Deals, Price, etc...) but they never stray from the main subject (TV & Video).

You can do the same thing as Amazon on a much smaller scale, just think of each category as a mini site of it's own, while keeping the entire site themed around a main subject (ex: Electronics & Computers).
