Hi Guys,

I´m here to ask something that probably its easy but i dont understand quite well how to do it.

Basically i do have a couple of keywords in page 1 of google but would like to know what is the conversion for each Keyword its a simple task to do it or it require a GA Guru to do it.

Because i want to add more SEO to a bunch of more keywords and will require to track the conversions so i can analyze the profit rate of each keyword i´m ranking.

thanks,
Morg

  • Great question Morg2k2,

Conversion Tracking is a feature that is used in Google Adwords and not in Analytics. It is an analytical tool that allows you to see which keyword queries typed in by users actually resulted in a conversion so that you can more appropriately allocate your budget. You can also use conversion tracking data in Google Analytics however you must first link the accounts, enable data sharing and enable auto-tagging in your Adwords account.

This link gives some more detailed information on how to set this up,

    Hi morg2k2,

I think, Conversion tracking will be suitable for you if you are about to know only convertion tracking. Because your target is calculating the profit rate by its convertion tracking. (Conversion tracking is available in Adwords).

    OR

Google analytic also can show the conversion tracking but using analytics is not much as simple as conversion tracking in Google Adwords. Using GA, you can also know flow of customers who are going through your site. (Source : Google Support)

If you're organically showing up in the search results without the use of adwords, you wont necessarily be able to track conversions per say.

You could always analyze the amount of monthly searches in the Google Keyword Tool, versus the data displayed in Google Analytics for how many visitors you get from Organic Search.

Then use the bounce rate to determine what percentage of people that are actually "Converting" from the search traffic.

Very Simple. Just set a Landing page for the leads or conversions and set goal in Google Analytic. Now Sync the Google Adwords with Analytics to make it fetch the information. Now you can view the conversion giving keywords and campiagns and country and all..
