Alternately if you use Google Chrome or Firefox for a browser you can install the WebRank SEO extension. It shows quite a bit more information about websites than just backlinks.

I've spent the last 59 months building 412 MFA sites. Each site averages 8 cents per day...I said average, some make up to 17 cents per day, PASSIVE INCOME! This income allows me to live comfortably and buy ANY flavor Jolly Rancher or Skittles I desire. Don't give in to fear, it CAN be done!

Now you can only do 50 keywords a month and if you didn't buy it before the change I don't think you can even get free rank checks at all.

Another tool that's great for checking backlinks is scrapbox...but it has some really dirty uses and is one of those frowned upon programs.
Sorry, but Market Samurai was never the best at either of those things. That whole tool is a waste of money.

Scrapebox has a lot of amazing uses. The only people frowning upon it are people that do not understand what it does or how it does it. It can be used in an entirely white hat way if someone chose to do that. One thing it does not do well though is check backlinks. Since Yahoo Site Explorer was taken down, it is virtually useless for checking backlinks.

SEO SpyGlass is my first choice. It accesses about 10 different backlink databases to pull information from, inlcuding Blekko and Alexa.

You can also take the backlinks from OpenSite Explorer, Majestic, and Ahrefs and import them into SpyGlass to pool all the data into one place. Plus SpyGlass will actually visit the pages and see if the links still exist.

    Hi priyankeshu,

I prefer ahrefs and alexa. I've seen some discrepancies with backlink watch on certain sites. And when you are checking multiple sites those seo pop ups get very annoying after a while.

    I usually try multiple tools.

    HTH.

Ahrefs for me, if you don't require doing much digging daily you can use the free version up to 5 searches a day, however I pay for the service and can search and see as much as I want from all my competitors
