It Seems than Matt Cutts wrote a twit about a new update from Google.

The update goal is to eliminate duplicate domains in the page results, sometimes a single domain has all the results in a keyword.

Has your domains been affecter by it?

I still have some, but not as much over all my sites. One has four listings.

Yes this is a very recent event and it definitely can be a great piece of news to hear because even if one website has dozens of pages, all of them talking about the same issue and also being powered with strong links, only one of them will be considered the real spot of that site and other domains will replace the pages from listing.

There's a difference in statements that people are mixing up.

First, one says "duplicate domains in search results."

That's not what the update said.

Then we morph to what others are saying, that google
is giving lesser websites a chance to show up.

There is a HUGE difference in those statements, and the
    OP stated the first.

    So the OP's statement:
The update goal is to eliminate duplicate domains in the page results, sometimes a single domain has all the results in a keyword.
    is a wrong observation.

Once again, this is a minor update that will effect very few. And your
"lesser" site had better be on par or better than a "normal" result.

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.

Hope not! I hated it when I found one website occupied all 10 positions--until yesterday when I found that one of my minor sites occupies positions #3 - #10! Can't remember when I've been this happy!

This fixes the so-called "crowd hosting" I take it. Yes, I've been impacted by this.

Hmm, maybe too early to make a good guess on whether this will eliminate duplicate domains in the page results or not.

Today in one of my niches, I see 5 listings for amazon.com on page one, as there are at least that many color variations of the product.

It has pushed my listing down a bit, but still on page 1.

Google announcements and reality rarely coincide.
