Static Page to Blog

Hey guys, I'm thinking about transforming my static niche site into a blog site.
Currently working on the design. I'm little bit afraid that this site will lose rankings cause I have to move the mainpage content to some blogpost. It's a EMD and PR2.

    If it's a Wordpress blog, you can set your old static html page content as a static Wordpress Index page, you don't have to use the WP Index page for only displaying new blog post.

    It won't lose ranking if you setup redirects from all the old pages to the new pages, do a 301 redirect with your .htaccess file.

    And even if it does lose it ranking, it will quickly regain it's position if you have a good on site SEO and some little back links.

    To be honest I didn't care about that site for 3 months, but since Ive put amazon on it it's earning decent moneys. I want to make it a magazine-style Blog and target more keywords and do listbuilding, that's the reason.
