Throwing out the old - starting anew

I am tossing out some of my websites that have been dropped in the SERPS by Google.
I am starting a fresh website (new domain) but I want to use some of the content from my old sites. Any comments about the best way to do this or problems I might run into?

I am going to change the links in some of my EZA articles. Will the re-used content ever be considered as belonging to the new site since it was first indexed on the old site or EZA?

Some of the sites are still active and some I have already let the domain lapse.

Use a spinner of your content, it will be seen as duplicate content posting it somewhere else. It happened to my mentor. He wass pretty pi**ed about it.
After all it's his content. So that's how he fixed it.

If your old sites lost their ranking in Google, perhaps the content was part of the problem. I would just start fresh, with all new content.

I believe the biggest problem was the backlinks. It makes sense to start fresh though. It is a product review site and most of the reviews are over a year old so i'ts time to get some updated reviews anyway.

I suppose this is much better than what other webmasters are doing. Many tried the 301 redirect trick. Did okay for a few weeks after Penguin's launch. Most suffered quite a drop with the latest update to Penguin.

At the end of the day, it's all about QUALITY. That's the way it should be.

I would pay to have to content re-written, unless you actually want to manually sit there and spin things.

Don't just automatically spin it though, that's how you end up with that auto-spun garbage that clogs up the internet.

Rewrite content, change it up a bit.. Also the content is not the problem, unless it's some spun-garbage, in all other cases it's your backlinks that were affected with the updates. Make sure you are doing the right SEO this time, and are aware of what's happened during the updates and what you need to be doing..

Backlinks aren't always the problem. My first big site got Penguin-ised, but I'm sure it's due to the quality of the articles being poor. I've really raised my game since then.

New site, new content. Why poison your new site with old content?
