Web2.0 Backlink Query

Hi All,

If I set-up a new account on a web2.0 site and then purchase a domain name (therefore not using something.blogspot.com or something.wordpress.com as the URL), will this still count as a web2.0 backlink or cannot be used as a blog in a private network of sites?

Cheers,
Seamy

Whether the site is a web 2 or hosted site makes no difference. What's important is the inbound links to the site. A web 2 with good backlinks can pass just as much juice as a hosted domain.

The only difference is in the beginning - a hosted domain has more power to rank sites than a new web 2. Presumably because a web 2 has a much higher abuse potential, but if both sites have good backlinks then both will pass juice just the same.

Both web 2's and hosted domains can be part of a blog network - in fact it's good to have a mix of both as this is more natural.

      Hope that helps.

You can use them as a private network & if you have good pr,decent traffic then you can always use those free web hosting properties on your private blog network to mix things up,i also have few of my own as well.
