Question regarding competitiors & thin sites

Hi Guys,

I have three very different questions here

1. What consists of a thin page? I will have a section on my website of A-Z of a certain something each will have its own titled page and has a small paragraph about the product (about 50-75 words) and 4-5 images along with amazon affiliate. Would you class this as a thin page?

2. We are aiming to blow our competitions out of the water and im wondering the best way to go about it. We want to rank above them.
They have 5740 pages, PR5 and 1732 backlinks. We have PR0 and only few backlinks currently. How can we get above them on google?

3. Why do people spin articles? Why cant you submit the same article to loads of differnet places?

    Thin page or no thing page the bottom line is, those pages can be ranked and if it converts well then you have a winner.

    Thou I have never used less than 350 word for my amazon site and have a fair conversion rate. What you should be bothered about and experimenting now is the conversion rate. In my opinion, the images will be too much against the content you have on the site. One good image should do it all. I have a client who used less than 100 words for ad sense site and was doing well.

    Quality and consistent back links is what you need.

    You can spy on your competitor and work your way up using similar techniques.

    3. Why do people spin articles? Why cant you submit the same article to loads of differnet places?
    This issue has been debated tons of times here and it's best to submit your article unspun.

      Conversions are the rate of which your traffic "converts" into a sale. For example, if you have 100 visitors and 3 buy something, your "conversion" is 3%.

      A lot of things effect conversions. Your content, the level of buying intent of the visitor, sales process, a lot of things. You might want to Google something like "increase my conversion rates with Amazon" or something along those lines to see all of the options that are available to you.
