DMOZ - Does it help for search engine rankings?

Hi,

I downloaded Traffic Travis to test it out and play a little bit with it. But I noticed that the SEO part of Traffic Travis show if competing sites are listed at DMOZ.

I have never heard about DMOZ before, but does it help on the rankings if the site is listed at DMOZ?

Thanks,

Jimmy

  • Hi Jimmy,

Personally I have found a Yahoo Directory backlink far more powerful than a DMOZ backlink and you can find plenty of expired domains with either or both of these links already for $5 plus domain renewal expenses.

Saves a lot of time and money to do it that way (with an expired domain).

    • Thanks,

So DMOZ and Yahoo Directory is basically backlink directories on high-authority sites?
  • Yep, directories that Google still values to a certain degree:

  • I think DMOZ will helps your site in good position on google.com search ranking.
However, only certain websites accepted on DMOZ.
  • Yes I think Dmoz and Yahoo Directories are the most authority websites. Its good to get listed on these directories.
