AdSense Crackdown

So it seems that since recently Google has gotten real strict on accepting new people for AdSense. I was recently rejected for "insufficient content" which in my opinion was weird because I had believed that there was sufficient content on my website (link in description).

I know a few people with far less content that was accepted (although that's a while back). Either way it's unfortunate. Nevertheless I continue to work on quality content and hopefully will apply again in the future.

What are your thoughts? Please share them.

  • Yeah that's actually a nice looking site with content and privacy policy.

Have you tried a personal blog? I've heard people go this route. Maybe Google doesn't like any more people in that niche. Just guesses. Good luck.
  • Trying submitting content to revenue sharing sites such as hubpages and file your application for an adsense account through them. You can also use blogger but have high quality content and more than just a handful of posts. This would not only be helpful in getting an adsense account but also help keep it from being banned.
  • Thank you boxuon. I was actually thinking of going the blog route but I have invested so much time coding this one that a blog just seems out of the question at the moment.
I think they have just really cracked down hard on websites. But I'll try again when I have a whole lot more content. Thanks for responding.
  • Google's not the only game in town. There are plenty of other advertising networks looking for publishers.

  • Hey Alex,
You are absolutely right. Which would you recommend? I need all the info I can get on them all.
  • Don't build another site man... your site is awesome! This is what I will do: I will go to the Adsense forum and open a thread revealing that you were rejected by Adsense but the reason for rejection does not make sense to you. Make your site public and tell people how many pages of content are on that site and ask people there what you can do to improve the site before re-applying.

Often one of the contributors will alert a Google employee if they feel your site was wrongfully disallowed and an employee may just reverse the decision. It is worth a try IMO coz your site is awesome.

    • I agree. That is weird. When I first started Adsense, I added it to a one page website with nothing but links on it. Times have changed.
  • Bad luck dude. Keep adding more quality content and try to apply again for adsense after some time.
  • Alex Cohen has said it. There are other advertisers like AdEngage. And if you work hard, you can become successful in affiliate marketing thats where the real money is.
  • lets hope bing takeover and has its own ad network then adsense will die

    • I think Microsoft has ad network but they only accept sites with 200+ million views per month.

  • just try to add more pages and apply again................ adsense will definitly accept your website , the same thing happened with me and my website got accepted on second attempt
  • I got hit by this when I applied, in my opinion I was like lack of content?

    My solution was this...

I spent the next 30 days writing 1 article per day, at the end of the 30 days applied again and was accepted.

    • I beg to differ.

If the site is the one in your sig, it has zero content.

If that's what people are calling content, man, I just
am becoming more and more speechless here as each
      day goes on.

      Your so-called tutorials explain nothing.

Just because something is unique, does not make
      it good or worthwhile.

There is absolutely nothing on that site worth anything.

Google may be cracking down, but that site has no
value at all. And that's not google cracking down.

Before you even think something is "quality" content,
it first has to be "content."

  • When applying for adsense, it seems like having a BLOGGER with unique content is the way to go. Don't just apply the first day you make it, add content to it and treat it like an actual blog that has some activity.

Then apply. Seemed to work for everyone I know.

No offense to anyone, but I don't think some of the people getting rejected understand how Adwords/Adsense works.

You need to target a language that has Adwords bidders. Google doesn't need to show Ads to a country/language that has 3 (slight exaggeration) Adwords guys targeting those Geo locations, they can easily cover those 3 guys in the paid SERPs.

If your sites text is written in Lemerig, you probably won't get accepted for Adsense.

Appeal to languages that have the most Adwords bidders targeting those languages..

  • A friend of mine was laid off recently, he wanted something productive to do while looking for a job so I showed him my niche site build process. His Adsense account was rejected for lack of content as well. However his site was very bare bones at the time. Once he upped 5 pages of basic unique content he reapplied and got approved.

Basic Wordpress site loaded with ProSense, completely looked like a built for Adsense site. Took about five days all up for him to get approved, even with the initial rejection.
  • Lets face it tutorial about html and CSS can be found anywhere on the internet and I have this impression google personnel are tired seeing these kind of content. If I may suggest as I always tell this to some of my online friends who are just starting make it more personal. Don't make it look like just a definition of terms that looks like a dictionary. You see the reviewer might have this impression that you just copied these terms from others unlike putting some personal touch and informal wordings might change that impression. LIke your sample codes

    <h4> This is a paragraph </h4>
<h5> This is another paragraph </h5>
    <p> This is a next paragraph </p>

thats too common. why not make it like this

<h4> Ohh this is H4. Now you know </h4>
    <h5> And this is H5 </h5>
    <p> I'm getting there this is tag P </p>

see the difference ? stuff like that. Goodluck. applying adsense account is easy and I did a lot of times for my friends and family members.

  • Thank you for the feedback everyone ! Much appreciated.
  • Why don't you try setting up a blogspot account and putting a few posts on there? You most certainly should get an adsense account that way.
  • Interesting, I'll look into that. Thanks guys.
  • No surprise, Google has been Nazi'ing their AdWords and AdSense to cater to big businesses for YEARS... they don't know what the hell they're doing; they suspended my AdWords account for giving away a copyrighted eBook... and the copyrighted eBook was MY OWN EBOOK for that website it was featured on.
  • That's nuts ! :O .. Did you get it back ?
