Adwords Keyword Tools - Weird Results?

Hello.

My name is Victor. I'm new to this forum, this will be my first post. I've recently taken on the challenge of affiliate marketing, in order to add something new and exciting to my life.

I've been in various businesses for the past 6 years, owning and selling them. I currently own e-stores and blogs over here in Eastern Europe, Romania.

While using the Keyword Tool that Google provides, I came across something really weird.
Yesterday a certain keyword, let's call it keyword X had 2,900 Global Search Volume and today it shows up with only 260 Global Searches.
Is it normal for Google to change it's volumes so dramatically on a daily basis?

Check how are you searching.. Test it with "Broad" checked, and then with "Exact" checked, and see if that's something you might have missed. It's on the left hand sidebar.

Well, it seems that that was the problem. I'm somewhat ashamed of myself now, because I wasn't paying attention. And there goes my niche Weedy92, thanks for your fast response!

  Does it make any difference if I am logged in or out of google whilst during my search? Am I shown different keyword ideas?

If you are logged in to GAKT, you get up to 800 related keywords.

  Something else, the values provided by Google are not exact results, but they are a good indication of the amount of traffic you can expect - more or less.
  
  If Google says for example 3000 searches, the exact number could be somewhere around 2000 or maybe somewhere around 4000, but surely not 40 or 40000.
