Tier 2 and Tier 3 Backlinks Help...

OK so say I've got my money site, and linking to that I have got a very high quality Wordpress blog or I have a contextual link within a guest post on a decent PR aged website, an authority in my niche.

Would sending not particularly high quality links to these tier 2 links help at all?

How about if another level was added in, if it were like this:

Money Site <-- Guest Post <-- Wordpress <-- Auto Backlinks

Thought please?

  • Building link on top of link is called link pyramid and it's one of the greatest way to rank fast on the SERP when done correctly.

    So to answer your question, if you build more tier links it will be more beneficial at the long run when they are all indexed.
  • Just don't blast the heck out of the sites you're guest posting on. Since you'd actually run the risk of getting them penalized.

    • Also if webmaster who gave you a guest post is smart enough , he could delete that blog for spamming his blog with low quality backlinks
      One purpose of tiered backlink is to build more PR for your tier 1 , so if you have a PR backlink on tier 1 , Just don't waste time building more links to that.
  • Linkwheels are over-rated to tell you the truth. It helps, sure, but keep it to a minimum.

    Mainly people use linkwheels to get tier 2,3,4,etc links indexed. This is useful for low PR sites, but if you have a link on a high PR domain it's not at all necessary since they'll have a high crawl rate.

    • Both pyramids and wheels can have more than 1 tier. The only difference is that the 1st tier in wheels will have all pages linking both to the money site and each other. I think having more than 1 tier, both for pyramids and wheels, will be helpful, because it gives more authority for the 1st tier pages and, implicitly, to the money site. BUT, it is a technique that must not be abused. As JSProjects said,
  • Have you made web 2.0's yet? Add orginal content, images, and videos to those and then backlink those hard. Add another layer of web 2.0's pointing to those. Diverse all of the link types going to each. This will give you an incredibly powerful boost when done right. Also protip: When making your 2.0's heres something you should follow:

    Day 1 quality article (orginal). Day 2 add a video + generic short post. Day 3 add a quality article with your links in it. For the future, continue the process and vary things up.
