How important is the second link from an authority domain vs. the first?

Let's say you get five links to your site from different pages on the same authority domain that's in your niche. One per week for five weeks.

Each link is on a page with equal PR and unique quality content.

As I understand it, the first link will have the biggest effect on your rankings, and subsequent links will have a smaller effect. To take it to extremes, if you got 1000 links from the same domain, the 1000th would have an extremely small effect compared to the 1st. Correct?

How important is the second link vs. the first for your rankings? How about the third? Or the fifth?

In other words, what kind of diminishing returns do you experience by getting links from different pages on the same domain?

I'm having a hard time asking the question in a simple way, hopefully you understand what I mean.

It's not about the domain PR, but the page PR. If your links come from a page with a high PAGE PR, those links will all count!

The link value depends on both page PR and OBL (outgoing/external backlinks) on that specific page. So depending on these factors alone (not number of links from same domain) your "link juice" will be calculated.

    To make an example:

If your first link placed on the domain is on PR1 page with 15 OBL, it will have less value than your 100th link on a PR1 page with 2 OBL. Get it?

    Higher PR = Better
    Low OBL = Better

High PR + Low OBL = Ideal.

I'm a little confused by this. Firstly, there's no such thing as "domain PR". Secondly, I didn't talk about OBLs at all. Assume that all the pages have the same number of OBLs.

I realize the PR of the page has a big effect on the power of the link, but that's not what I'm asking about.

What you are saying is that getting 10 links from 10 PR5 pages all on the same domain is just as powerful as getting 10 links from 10 PR5 pages all on different domains. Is that a correct summation of your argument?

To answer your question we should know the Google Algorithm. That is impossible, so your question cannot be answered.

I really appreciate you for your deep thought.
