Google shows only 7 results per page.? Does Google encounters ERROR.?

Hi friends, I have checked one of my client site keyword in Google.com.au and Google.com. But in both search Google displays only 7 Results in 1st page.


The keyword is 457 Visa. I checked 457 Visa in Google.com.au and Google.com, only 7 sites were listed per page.


What is the main reason behind it.?


Does Google is implementing its algorithm.? But i checked the other words in Google, But there i could see Google listing 10 results per page.

  • I actually read this is by design, I don't recall all the details but it isn't an error and only happens I think for certain things.
  • It's because the first result (immi.gov.au) effectively uses up 4 results.

  • I'm seeing 10 results. Quite possible Google is trying things out whether to switch to 7 results vs 10 results on page.

    Google has been showing double/triple/quadruple SERP listings per keyword for a long time (years). Not sure why people act like it's something new.
