There are lots of SEO services around, but it's hard to tell which is the BEST, unless you get the recommendation from someone you personally know. Posting it here will lead you to a lot of people advertising their services. You can't really say what the "best" SEO service is until you see the results. Besides, Google is hiding their algorithm from us, so it's hard to tell who can really deliver.

All I can give though is an advice on a few things that you need to consider before buying an SEO service.

- Look at their background / portfolio. If they can give you a case study on a specific website, the better. There, you can check on the kinds of backlinks they have and their method of SEO. Most services are shrouded with hype, and won't tell you exactly what their methods are. You may get one that deliver good results, but you're completely blank on how they deliver their service. You might fall into a black hat SEO service which may be detrimental to your ranking efforts in the future.

- Demand for reports / metrics. Although this is important, this may also be cheated. Ask for the right metrics. Some services may show you improvements on traffic in past x # of days, but traffic can be manipulated. Know the quality of the backlinks.

- Compare rates. Some services offer you cheap services, they're the ones I'm more likely to avoid. I'm not saying they're mostly bad, that's just me. I have this thinking that nothing that takes a lot of time and effort to do comes cheap.

There may be SeoClerks and Fiverr gigs offered for less, but they're mostly automated and nuked campaigns. I'm not saying I'm not using some gigs to rank, but I'm using several gigs of different types to optimize my sites. The more manual and natural (in terms of speed or drip feeding), the better.
