Thats great !

Been working hard on 4 new sites since Christmas after my last sites went down the pan and today 2 of them have been completely wiped out of the top 100 searches in google.

Although for some reason one is still holding strong !

This SEO game is really crazy now i did everything and i mean everything i thought was right yeah i guess some SEO superstars on this forum could look at my sites and laugh and pull them down and say its no wonder that my sites have been hit.

But i`ll tell you now all the articles where the best quality i could come up with 700+ words LSI mixed in i really couldn`t do any better

Backlinks ..no way i just bought a few high PR blogs hosted them on shared hosting accounts and other then that i had afew web 2.0s with 300 word articles and i only had a few of these and i also had SocialADR

Thats it the sites are still indexed as is everything else

I guess my best is just not good enough and google is looking for a higher quality webmaster than me

I`ve read all the self help book and oohhh `you can quit any time so why quit now` but i`ll tell you after spending the last 6+ months building these sites and trying to do everything the right way i really feel like this is the end of the road for me

Of course i still did some backlinking so i dont want some smart so and so bringing me down any further today

But if thats it this is the new update i will have to say watch out because my sites ..well they wasn`t that bad i`ll tell ya !!

Jim

It was your fault, you must avoid high quality content. Google only like low quality spun wikipages and I am not joking.

    Jim,

Google wouldn't know quality if it walked up to it and punched it in the nose.

The only reason Wikipedia ranks for every term under the sun is because someone at Google manually placed it there across the board.

Other than that, focus on marketing without Google...build lists, great services and content and forge ahead.

This is what we all have to do. The faster you divorce your proceedings from reliance on Google the happier you will be and the better you will sleep at night.

The reason Wikipedia ranks well is because they have crazy high domain authority and tons and tons of natural backlinks. I would continue to focus on adding high quality content to your website that keeps visitors on your site and engaged...and do some selective link building. It's possible this rankings dip is a temporary thing. The best thing to do is not to overreact and just monitor the site over the next 4-6 weeks to see if it bounces back.

This guy is correct. Google doesn't play with the rankings, apart from stuff like JCPenny.

Also, it is because you aren't doing a 'truly' good job on SEO. People don't understand the complexities and real skill that goes into doing search optimization correctly. It takes years to learn how, just like any other trait.

I had a similar problem with a 2 year old site that this morning was wipped. It was ranking on first page for over an year so google is trying to discourage people to do seo and go to ppc. They find a way to push you to the dark side.

      That is just silly.

For every site that drops, another one takes its place. What if that was someone struggling to rank before who was a PPC client? They might stop their PPC campaign now?

They would lose just as many as they gain.

      Hi Howi,

Actually they are just trying to get better search results for users.

Trust me when I tell you that many of the web pages that get dinged in these algorithm updates will not be permitted to advertise in the much stricter AdWords program. And of those that are permitted, many will have such poor landing page quality scores that it will be prohibitively expensive to advertise. For many of those pages dropped, organic listings are their only hope of ever being found in Google.
