Getting Record Traffic & Ads Clicks Since Google's EMD Update

is your site a EMD? or a brand domain?

My good sites have already eclipsed their average daily traffic and I still have 8 hours left in the day. They are non-EMD.

Both of my sites are hitting record numbers starting yesterday and moving into today. I usually enjoy a nice boost during updates but this one has been pure heaven.

Going through some of the SERP's for my more recent articles I do think I am finally getting a system fine tuned along with how to write articles that appeal to both Google and users.

Things are going quite well for me. I weaned off of EMDs years ago.

My emds are doing great but my brands are suffering. My emds have less backlinks then brand sites.

Still hanging on. Will be back to work Monday when more info is available.

I may get slammed down for this but oh well....

I dont think its really fair to be saying how youve gained from the EMD change
when tons of people on here have lots all their sites - all their income etc even some branded sites.

I agree spammy websites that mean nothing should have been hit by this as they were clearly not taking notice of what they should be doing to get to the top of Google.

But some sites that have had genuinly good content, offering quality and useful information have been hit.

My sites havent been touched because they havent even been ranked yet and my others are not EMD's

But still SOME people have lost their income and all their hard work and dont think its a time to 'gloat'

You have to keep in mind, there are always 2 sides to an update. Much like when you get hit it is critical to find out where the errors where and how to resolve them, same thing applies when things go well. Find out what you did right and maybe even what others did right so you can repeat this process. Doesn't matter to much if you go up or down, knowing why will only help you create stronger websites and content. Isn't that why we are here?

Personally, I was one of the ones who lost out with this update and although it sucks for me, I love the challenge that comes along with figuring out what I need to do to rank. I was climbing up Google steadily for pretty competitive terms before yesterday and now have been slapped to hell, but with each slap I get, and yea I've had a few, I learn something that I can apply in my next round with Google. Lets just hope I've learned enough now to begin doing some slapping of my own, lol.

The update ISN'T finished yet so what you're seeing now, MAY be the opposite of what you see next week.

Next week will say whether or not to gloat.

But hopefully all who have made special efforts, do get their sites back on tune.

I guess your super high pr backlinks made the difference.


Homever I'm going to be honest here , I currently have 5 partial emd's (clients sites) and 1 emd that I own (adsense site).

My site was targetting 35 different med-high competition keywords , decent quality content with basically all keywords in top 12 got completly tanked, ALL went down to 250+ .

1 clients site targetting a a high competition KW got slammed from 1# to 10#.
1 got a nice improvement , though niche , I guess many sites on page 1 got slammed and I earned those 15-20 positions.
1 site jumped from 5# to 60
1 site vanished from 12# to nowhere.
1 e-commerce site with a partial emd 30+ keywords went from top 15 to 150+.

I have 25+ more sites on my rank tracker and most of those branded sites had ZERO strange movements.

After some analyze I have to say that those tanked sites had a pretty high bounce rate , and my suspect is that this could be one of google's ''quality factor'' in this update.

We'll see what happens in the coming 2-3 days as I noticed some heavy dance today too , so nothing is sure yet.

Yes, my site jumped to page 1 today. I am getting about 10x more traffic than I have ever got in my life. HOWEVER, it is NOT an exact match domain.

It has our main keyword in it, but its more of a half match domain. The phrase we target on the site is 2 words, in the url its just 1. I just hope it stays this way because this will be huge for business.

I've also received a nice steady uptick in traffic from this update. I haven't had enough time to see what keyword movements I've made. However, all in all, pretty happy..

I have an EMD with no content at all, it just says "coming soon" and has a pic of my face winking in an extremely flirtatious manner, is at number 1 as it has been for the past few months.

Solution to your EMD beef? Flirt with google

End of the year is always higher earnings with my Adsense sites, it's like clockwork, year after year (Oct. - Jan./Feb.).
