Multiple domains for same website?

What happens to my search engine ranking if I have, say, 4 domain-names all connected to the same website?
Say for instance that I got 4 different landing pages with domain1.com/xx1, xx2, xx3 and xx4. Will the other 3 domains follow in the search rankings too?

Then I would have:

domain2.com/xx1, xx2, xx3, xx4
domain3.com/xx1, xx2, xx3, xx4
domain4.com/xx1, xx2, xx3, xx4

If one ranks high, will the other domains follow?
Or should I just go with one domain and put everything on that one?

Definitely wont follow. Each domain is evaluated on its own. Mind you links within domains gain the benefit of being on that domain. For example pages on yahoo.com will rank faster than pages on a lower PR site.

Back links coming into these domains and their content will determine their PR and positioning.

Then I should focus on one domain only. Making all the links etc. towards that one.
