It could be one article, or you could 10,000 articles and get no traffic. Just "writing and then getting traffic" isn't much of a strategy, to be honest, so it is indeed kind of a silly question.

My best advice would be... try it and find out. Write good content, promote it, then start to see what kind of a traffic bump you get with each newly published earlier. This can take months until you're at a point where your data is worth analyzing, but just trying it out is probably the easiest way to answer the question - Sorry
