Hi,

Im starting the process of backlinking for my new site. You all say to backlink to high PR sites.

So that would be:
Web 2.0's
High Pr Blogs?
Social networking pages

Are there any im missing out on here? Any other types of online sites you backlink to?

  • To get a high page rank you need to have a lot of backlinks to your site! At 200k links to your site you should get PR 3 or 4.

  • 200k?? There is no way I could get 200k non spammy backlinks to my website???

  • Any high PR site that's RELEVANT to your niche will work wonders. But a common mistake most people make is focusing on DOMAIN PR instead of PAGE PR.

Page PR is where you should focus your attention on, not the PR of the domain itself.

Another very important factor to keep your eyes on is the OBL, or 'External Links' pointing to other URLs. Less OBL means more link value, so ideally you'd be looking at high PR pages with low OBL.

Vary your linkbuilding efforts with a mixture of nofollow and dofollow links across various platforms for best results, -and also remember to diversify your anchor texts.

    • Brilliant! Thank you so much, really points me in the right direction.
If I comment on a blog with a high PR page....should I leave it as an Anchor text or as an actual www.mydomain.com link?
  • Web 2.0 sub domains hold almost zero power once you create one. You need to backlink even those web 2.0 to make them stronger. About anchor text keep your main keyword anchored on 15-20% backlinks , 40% raw link like mydomain.com , 20% secondary keywords and 20% generic anchors like click here|this site|more info|etc etc.

    • Thank you for that info, now I know not to over do the raw links.

Why do you have to backlink web 2.0s and your website? Why not just your website?
