I recently started a thread in where I am planning to write up what happens if I try to improve the quality of my website and try to see if it helps recover from the EMD and Quality update from Google. Here is the thread,

With 60% of all Google searches now coming from mobile devices what I want to know this.

If you were penalised by the latest Google update do you have a mobile version of your website?

Does a responsive theme count as a mobile site in your experiment? Or just a dedicated site?

Not 100% sure what you mean by that but if your website recognises that it is being viewed by a mobile device and changes in some way to make it more user friendly then yes. You will have to forgive me as I personally have never built for mobiles yet.

I think he means his site is "fluid" and not fixed width.

I'm working on a mobile version that fits the iPhone (320px) but can you monetize these sites with adsense, or is it just a service you provide to your visitors? I could see a place for it when I worked as a painter in my former life, having that information easily accessed from a phone, but if adsense is your business, I don't know what purpose that kind of site serves on a phone.
