I am buying aged domains off godaddyauctions

I want to register them as private,
I would assume they still hold all the aged domain benefits, can someone confirm that this is the case?

thanks

  • If you register the domain as private that will not have an effect on the age domain benefits it may have.

Although you will want to do some prior research to make sure it will hold its aged domain benefits because it is very likely once you buy it that it could loss those benefits or it could be fake in the first place.

A few of the things you may want to look out for are to check if the Pagerank (PR) is true and not fake, the domain name is actually indexed in the search engines, the backlinks it has to the domain are likely to stay there even after you buy the site, the backlinks are trustworthy and are coming from good sites, and the domain name has not been transferred to more than 2-3 different owners throughout its existence.

    • this is precisely my question, how do you make sure it will retain its aged domain benefits?
what would cause it to lose those benefits?

  • Are you going to host in another server? It will not affect rankings. But Hosting makes some impact i think, Not much.. Go for it.
  • Privacy protection won't do anything to affect the age of a domain and you should do it IMO as basic 'best practice'.

Naturally, don't forget your due diligence before buying.

I have a video on my due diligence process here (and I've bought thousands of aged domains):
