Purchasing Domain Names?

Since the EMD's took a hit, ive been looking around for website ideas for a authority website.

I've found a few domains that have decent age and PageRank. I just have a question:

- If I buy a domain name, and I wipe it of its content and start over with my own content, will I LOSE or decrease the PageRank significantly? For example, a PageRank that was 6 and crush it down to a 1 or something like that?

I have 3 websites with pr2 and 1 with pr3. Some from 2008 and one is from 2000. I don't care about them cause i have other businesses to deal with. some only have wordpress with one post in them and that's it, all have plenty of backlinks.

if someone wants to know more and buy, send me a pm i'll send you a link to all 4

EMD took a hit? There are many claims that EMD alone does not harm results. The entire link profile may be the main factor, not the EMD itself.

Yup. It was EMD's that were solely ranking BECAUSE of their EMD status. If you had a bad backlink portfolio in the past you could still rank because of the stupid EMD, not anymore.

Since EMD itself doesn't hurt, and the main cause is the link profile.

Can I re-use the same domain name (EMD) and redo the content and on-page link? This is because the current EMD site have heavy off-page Optimization. You might take months to get back the numbers of backlink.

Or perhaps, migrate everything to a new non-EMD site and redo all the backlink?

      Anyone tried 301 redirect?

I respectfully disagree with UMS. If you wipe out the content, Google is going to essentially consider it a new website. It's the website that gets the PR, not a URL.
