WTF! Traffic Spiked then Cratered!

I have a website (newschoolaudio(dot)com) that has been getting around 45 visits/day, then on 9/28 it spiked to 147, then cratered to 5, then 0 by October 1st, what could have caused this crater!

I know panda updated late September, but from what I have seen it shouldn't have affected me. I know the tracking code is still working because it is still showing real time visits, and I am still in Google according to webmaster tools and site search on Google.

Any input would be appreciated, so far my day has been crap!

    Hi JohnRedick,

It sounds like normal rankings swing that everyone sees due to QDF. It's normal, nothing to worry about. Just get busy promoting your website using solid promotional techniques.

Yeah, make sure to keep promoting your website.

This could be a regular Google dance where you are actually set to increase in the rankings in a short while. It is considered a counter-measure to SEO's, that Google sort of gives off misinformation before displaying its true intent when it comes to ranking.

I have seen this a lot before, while initially alarming- it's nothing to worry about.

I have seen fluctuations before, but nothing as extreme as this, that's why I was freaking out about it.

Thanks for the input! I'll just be patient and see what happens.

Yep, classic pattern we see all the time. Read up on QDF, you realize this is a normal pattern that you should come to expect on all your new content. The timing, and degree of the swing varies based on the number and strength of your competitors.

Most likely hit by EMD update. I got same thing.. Was getting ~100 visitors per day, then 1 day before dissappearing I got 400 visitors and 7 sales!

However, after that the site has been gone for good.
