Adwords Are Now Better Value Than SEO!

Having been hit by Penguin back in April I've had to do a lot of rethinking about getting my website found by my target audience.

Yep we can all argue till we're blue in the face about whether Google has a monopoly on our earnings but I for one rely on it heavily and don't mind admitting it.

I'm sure they'll be some of you screaming at your screens saying WELL DON'T RELY ON IT THEN but no matter what strategy you take - list building, forum posting, social networking blah blah blah you will still have relied on Google at some point to get your traffic, I guarantee!

So I recently setup and adwords account and you know what... I reckon it's cheaper than paying for SEO, plus my website doesn't get penalised or hit by negative SEO either.

Neither do I have to spend hours/days/weeks/months/years writing articles like I've done that were good articles but have pretty much counted for nothing or posting genuine useful answers on forums only to be banned because I put something wrong in my signature or creating squidoo lenses/hubpages that never get found...need I go on.

To sum up, Google Adwords is better than SEO.

I def agree with you here.

I advertise on Google as well and one thing is for certain is that you get traffic way faster paying for it then you do trying to rank in the Search Engines.

One thing that I have been testing out is the Display Network you should check it out.

BTW, I'm going to add you as a friend. I would def like to stay in touch and see what your doing. Maybe we can brainstorm and share some ideas.

Cool movemaker, yeah I'm happy to make friends

Just to be clear..SEO is still 'paid for traffic' but comes will a whole host of problems. Adwords is clean, simple and cheap, plus you ALWAYS hit your audience.

That doesn't mean anything. If you think the ONLY way to get backlinks and on page SEO is by paying someone then... something is wrong with your thought process my friend.

Does your SEO strategy require me spending more than 1 second of my time to do it?...if it does then there is something wrong with your thought process I'm afraid.

Well maybe its best you use adwords instead of trying to get natural traffic from google. With your attitude i see why you're failing. Fact is SEO and Adwords go hand in hand. Neither one if better then the other. Some people who have the money typically use adwords because the traffic is instant. So you saying that adwords is better then seo is ridiculous.. Better for whom? You?

You can honestly find all the information on how to link build and on page seo your website for FREE on this forum.

Yes I agree with that Adwords gets fast traffic which is compare to SEO services do very slowly & time consuming but i think mixture both can do a lots of boost to your site.

Nice one. The topic of what is cheaper depends on the nature of the project.

      Hi HenrySEO89,

I have heard rumors to this effect, I am glad I finally found the source.

May I have some free SEO service please?

I have some large eCommerce websites I'm launching this month, in highly competitive, and potentially lucrative markets. My competition is stupidly paying for their SEO service. I know, really dumb right?

So what I need is enough of this free SEO service that you offer to overtake a few competitors that are currently spending about $500,000 each in their SEO campaigns. Please tell me how many of your free SEO service packages I need to outrank my foolish competitors within 90 days. I need you to start your free service on the 15th of this month so that we are top ranked by the middle of January.

I am so excited to finally take advantage of your amazingly free SEO services, I hope you are really good because you will be saving me tons of money, and helping to bury my naive competitors that are so foolishing paying for their SEO services. This will give me the competitive advantage that I need to crush them.

Trust me, when I have millions in profits rolling in, all due to your free SEO service, I will speak highly of your free SEO services so that you can earn the opportunity to supply your free SEO service to 1000s of other webmasters.

We're all gonna be rich. Which brings me to the question, what's your secret, how do you supply millions of dollars with of SEO service for free? Are you some sort of wealthy benefactor? Never mind about those questions, we've got work to do so let's get rolling.

This is by design. Ever since Google went public and has to answer to shareholders, they've been inching toward making free traffic tougher to come by for all but the biggest authorities. What alternative do most site owners turn to? Paid traffic, of course. Cha-Ching for Google and their investors!

This was easy to see coming. Expect more updates that make the organic SEO maze even tougher to navigate for the average site owner. It's all by design.

I've seen in some posts (can't remember where) that the aim in the algo changes is for website owners to start Adwords campaigns. Now I see that's true.

To be honest, the best thing for most businesses to do is both. Top organic listings along with a solid AdWords campaign. Most people around here do not understand a thing about branding though.

Occasionally you speak a lot of sense Mike :p

That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm not saying that SEO doesn't work. Clearly it does but what I am saying is that at the moment my Adwords are cheaper and easier to deliver than trying to do it through SEO.

Cheap SEO is a thing of the past. It has to be done correctly now over a long period of time and that costs more than shirt buttons.

It also depends on your niche and keywords too. Long term, for certain keywords you would spend a fortune on AdWords compared to a good SEO strategy (although solid SEO work would probably cost you more upfront). On the other hand, some keywords are so cheap to bid on, cost wise it could make more sense for someone to go that route.

I've actually turned down SEO projects in the past because the client could probably generate more traffic through AdWords than paying me the minimum I was willing to work for.

Use both, plus other methods. Why? So you can lower your average blended customer acquisition cost.

All the latest posts I have been reading lately point towards the fact that now, its "like"s and "+1"s which we ought to build and less links... especially with the latest Google update. Social media optimisation is the next generation SEO i guess. But of course, on-page SEO still remains a prerequisite in my opinion.

Strange that there are so many places ranking with zero +1's then.

Having been promoting my product for over 2 years now I'm yet to see a Google update that would affect my Adwords account. The same cannot be said for SEO.

I've yet to see a Google SEO Update that has hurt me, in fact every update thus far has only helped my ranking. Instead of blaming Google perhaps you should blame your strategy, though google is a bit easier and more popular to blame I imagine.

*laughs* Page? Between my 2 sites I have easily over 2000 pages of content.

I can see why the updates haunt you.

Well good for you and no doubt you've spent many hours creating that amount of content which is commendable and I hope it's paying a return for you.

Actually making nothing at the moment, Adsense and I are currently in a bit of a disagreement so I removed them off my site and in the progress of changing the direction of how it earns money. The bad thing about big websites is they don't turn on a dime.

OK well clearly we are coming at this from a totally differnet angle then because I have a product sales page (well 6 pages in total). My own product. 2000 pages would not really be practical but believe me I have produced hundreds of pages/lenses/articles/postings/facebook/tweets all pointing back at my site and my only point in this is that if you add the sum total of time spent doing all that compared to a few cents per click on my adwords account and there really is no comparison. Adwords wins hands down and I'm page one 24/7.

Same goes for paying for good quality SEO services.

Would you recommend AdWords for Amazon affiliate sites? Certain people do it, but not that many so it seems like it would be difficult to get an ROI, especially given Google's stringent policy on affiliate links and high CPC.

I think Amazon Affiliate sites would be very tough to get past Google Adwords approval these days.

That is very true. I just got accepted for the Engage program and from what I can see they are investing a good bit it getting the word out on Adwords and its benefits for small biz. They give you dedicated rep to help you optimize customers Adwords campaigns. You know they are not doing that for nothing.

What benefits for small businesses? They get to overpay for low volume local keywords. They're suckering people into the Engage plan in order to make them an unpaid salesforce. The Engage participants will end up doing all the heavy lifting of conning and then setting up accounts for the locals. Google will make the money. When they're done with the Engage suckers, they'll toss them under the bus.

This is the exact MO of this company since the start. Leverage imaginary 'partnerships' until they no longer serve their purpose and dump the people who made them famous.
