Amazon Associates Payment Question

Longtime Amazon Affiliates,
turns out I'm having some minor success with an authority site that's a hybrid adsense/amazon site. It's not even done (only 25 articles so far) but because it's Halloween and based off of a popular movie franchise, I'm getting high conversion and I anticipate enough revenue to pay for all of my fam's Christmas presents this year (I took the gift card option).
That being said, I know Amazon pays 2 months out. I look at September payments coming in "Late November." Is "Late November" traditionally before Black Friday? And do they pay faster if you take the gift card option versus the check?
